The lbs needed help in the off-season, but wasn't addressed. We all knew that. Dl was the strong point, and our secondary got the job done down the stretch last year. On paper we had 1 weak unit.
They have seemed to regress exponentially. It's a real head scratcher.
Offense is producing way better this year. Makes sense with the upgrades, and having a qb that is at least average by nfl standards. Our qb carousel is a joke, but even more so the last 3 years.
This team is really hard to have any kind of expectation for. I thought we would come into the year as 9-8/8-9 +/-. Now I'm afraid we are 3-12 4-13 +/-.
You are not wrong.... the correlation being Curl bringing coverage ability to the SS position and Everett and Reeves working on the back end when Apke was benched. They got abused in the first 8 weeks, much like now, but they also played many more good teams early in the season

I thought we would beat the Chargers. Didn't think they were that much improved, coming eat and 1 pm start. I am still not sold on them they laid a huge egg against Dallass and could very well do the same tonight against Raiders.

Our Saints game is looking a lot better though

Washington's offense finally with several big plays in a game.

Taylor Heinicke had 4 deep completion today (20+ air yards). Per
@NextGenStats
, that's the most deep completions by a Washington QB in a game since Kirk Cousins had 4 in Week 17, 2016.

7 plays of 20+ yards today

Would appear that way. But I still have no faith. We beat the Saints and ill up my win prediction from 3/4 to 5/6.

It's funny how much more quiet this site is after a win.

We all know this celebration will be short-lived.

If they didn't I'm beginning to think there's a culture problem on D (what with the lack of hussle already highlighted).
I think there's zero chance McTyer's teammates acknowledged, and then ignored the fact that he was hurt. They have bad coverage skills, but I don't think they are bad humans.

That's because it hasn't been hijacked by condiment debates yet.

Until then some post game observations: https://www.hogshaven.com/2021/10/4/...gainst-atlanta

Re: Falcons postgame

Wild game. Was hoping the D would show signs of life in this one, but at least the offense came to play. The defense has to turn it around at some point, right?

Re: Falcons postgame

The defense has been able to stop the run fairly well in spots…it’s the pass defense/pass rush

And of course 3rd down conversations is the big problem. What were we 10/15 last night?
