With you on Maye, as far as the signature game. I will say he does pass the eye test. Tall, strong armed, athletic, and most of all HE GOES THROUGH HIS PROGRESSIONS ON READS. To my eyes, he does this best of the three QBs. Daniels is by far the best athlete. Agile, fast, and has that quick twitch and gone ability like Mike Vick. He is third in ability to read defenses and go through his progressions on the route tree. 4/5 times he has his hot read, and if not there, he ticks and runs, in fact, that is his first instinct. Caleb seems the biggest risk, and would not trade anything for him. The high ceiling of potential might be too great if he was to fall to #2 to pass. Maye looks the part, and I would wager is most likely to succeed in becoming a bonifide NFL (upper echelon) QB. Daniels has a ton of potential, but the biggest question is can he learn to pre snap read, and read defenses in order to become a complete QB. To be honest, I haven’t seen that from him, and I’ve seen all of his games at LSU. He may become a Mike Vick level, where he’s the best athlete on the field, but not so great of a passer, just ok. Or, he may realize his potential and become something of a Lamar Jackson or better, maybe say Randall Cunningham. My 2 cents.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
I just want them to do whatever it takes to get the QB Kingsbury wants to run his offense. I don't care who it is or where he comes from, as long as he gets his guy.

The rams did it and what did they get from that Trade with RG3? Basically nothing. I agree, more picks doesn’t always mean better players Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Id like the team to identify and draft both a QB AND a RB this year that fit the scheme. Let them grow together

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Getting the QB right is huge, the only thing I know is I don't know. Say what you want, but I am about to watch Mr. Irrelevant battle the 10th pick of the 2017 draft in the Super Bowl. And the 1st QB drafted in the 2017 draft is on his 3rd team.
Our FO and coaching staff has its work cut out to get it right. |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
trade down thinking you're getting harrison and penix... end up with joe alt and JJ mccarthy, then what?
If the team leaves the draft without a QB they can sell to the fanbase, they'd be f'ing with the money. You don't want to F with the money. Everyone can have their own opinions, but it seems weird that when we're finally in the position everyone always talks about, the first thing some people want to do is not take the shot at the best QB available. We've done late rounders that haven't worked out too (haskins, campbell, ramsey). CBS has penix as the 32nd best prospect. nfldraftscout has him as #52, espn #46, the other 3 are in the top 8/top 4/top 10. |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Andy Reid is one of the best ever.
The difference between his Eagles teams and the Chiefs Dynasty is QB play. Chiefs traded two 1st and a 3rd to get Mahomes. Eagles had McNabb throwing grounders. I don't want to compare Caleb to Mahomes but if the front office thinks Caleb has the same ceiling as the greats, we have to do everything possible to draft him. 7 out of the last 10 Super Bowl winning QBs will be first ballot hall of famers (Brady, P.Manning, Mahomes). The other 3 QB: F the eagles and Foles. Stafford - Possible HOFer - Top tier passer! Wilson - Looked like a HOFer early on. Obviously you still need to build a team around the QB but the Chiefs had bums out there catching passes and they still won. Guys like Brady and Manning aren't athletic but they are impossible to pressure because they read defenses so quickly and get the ball out. Purdy struggled in the second half with this. Mahomes didn't. I'm all in for a franchise QB not just a good QB. F Maye btw. Those UNC QBs should go straight to jiffy lube. |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
If PFN is any indicator, good chance Patriots or Falcons offer to move up.

I can’t wait until this draft is over lol. I’m already over the Caleb going to Bears talks. We all know Chicago won’t pass him up. That whole fan base was go bat shit on them if they did

Punch's way of posting the actual download is much better once you figure out how to use it.
