Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

I think if you look at the Flacco situation in B-more is where Scott is trying not to be with KC and us. We simply can't over pay for KC and expect to be anything but mediocre for the next 5 years.

The way the Skins offense is built we need a good QB at a good price. We don't need a superstar at a superstar price tag. I think KC is very good but not superstar. Put KC in say Philly his numbers would not be so hot.

What sucks is the laws of supply and demand come into play. the league probably has the right amount of superstar QBs, god knows plenty of bad QB's and very limited amount of middle of the road guys. So you end up paying superstar $$$ to the few middle road guys but by doing so it limits the amount of talent you can put around middle of the road QB and you ended up asking middle of the road guy to be a superstar; which generally ends in a fail.

Basically we are in a tough spot with KC.

I'm not really buying this. The cap is going up. If you pay your QB 20-23million a year with a 170 salary cap, how does that put a team in a tough spot?? I just don't see it that way.

Listened to the audio vault w/ Cooley. He basically said that KC was playing scared because of his contract situation and it was his worst game since he became the starter.

I was going to say the same exact thing but I obviously don't have enough credibility to be able to state that.

And that's why I asked- what's Cousins' priority?

I may have a faulty memory, but I thought Cooley said he didn't think Kirks poor play was about his contract. He said Kirk didn't respond well to the pressure of this game, he didn't want to say it was a choke, just that Kirk was too scared of making a mistake and missed a lot. But I thought he made it clear that in his opinion it was not because of the contract situation

You could be correct.

One of the other things they mentioned on the Int to Harris. He was shocked that KC was even was looking at that side of the field, since Harris was by himself on the 3 by 1 formation. I found that the most interesting, cause it was obviously an easy td had KC just looked where he was suppose to look.

Anyhow, not a good way for KC to end the season. I still 100% believe he's our starter and should be paid in the low 20 million dollar range, or just south of Luck money.

I think his value is inching up slightly as time goes by and McVay and Kyle Shanahan interview for coaching opportunities. Both are Cousins guy and I dare say if Shanahan gets hired as a HC somewhere he will reach out and try and get Kirk.

If he ends up in Denver that wont happen

And reading more into what Cooley said- I believe that I share his opinions in thinking that Cousins' contract took focus away from winning games and because of this - his priority was his contract over winning. Whether he was consciously doing it or not.

... that's why immediately after the Green Bay game - the outburst. And after the Giants game, the focus was more about discussing HIS future and HIS contract. Didn't really catch him saying anything positive about the Redskins team. If he did, it got lost in all of HIS talk about the contract.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

I find irony in the comments complaining about my complaints about Cousins' complaints. This is like some next level complaining- sort of like the next level dreaming in the movie Inception but it's next level bitching.

You're partially right, this is like some next level bitching, only it's you that's doing it. Everyone else is having a rational discourse, meanwhile you're covered in horse blood and guts and you're failing to realize there's nothing left to beat. We get it, you are unhappy with Kirk. Lifeprotip: If something upsets you, ignore it.

Oh my god. Can you just let me complain?!? Jesus! I mean isn't this meant to be a part of these forums. You and no one else is going to stop me unless they ban me. God dam Nazis.
