I would bet NOBODY saw this one coming - Guess this answers the "Should/Will Gibbs get an OC" question.

It should also (if there are still any doubters out there) demonstrate that Gibbs is absolutely driven to win and seemingly egoless in his desire. Also, given the scaled down offseason last year, and the money being thrown around for coaches this year, maybe JG and Danny boy believe they have found the answer to winning in the salary cap era. Quality (not star) players and excellent coaching.

Pardon me while I go pray to my Gibbs idol.

He's the H Back, not a true TE.

I must admit I was convinced that all we needed was another deep threat wide receiver - which we still do need. But man....this is an AWESOME move! This will only further the Joe Gibbs concepts on offense, except make it more explosive! Get ready for greatness guys! The team with the top five offense and defense is coming to town in '06!

I didn't see that one coming, WOW... I'm really excited now.. I got the Superfan package on NFL Sunday Ticket so I have 13 of the Redskins games from this season on TIVO from the 'Short Cuts' they did of each game (30 minutes, every play with minimal replays) so I will be watching that game over tonight..

From a playcalling standpoint, I hope Saunders brings us a good screen game as well as a decent mid range passing game across the middle of the field..

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

They use him in the passing game like the TE though. He only works out of the backfield on occasion. He usually motions out of it. He is our good TE.

In Gibbs offense, they're isn't a need for a "Tony Gonzales"....the pass catcher,in other words, is the H-Back. While the TE is primarly used for pass protection and run-blocking. (in a perfect world)

I guess I should have added the winking smiley to the end of my statement, but I was kind of joking during that post. I know he pretty much plays the role of the TE, but a lot of people were complaining about Robert Royal and saying that we needed a TE. People were saying that we should have drafted Heath Miller because Cooley's an H Back. It was a joke, I know his role in the O.

Didn't mean to beat you up

I think Royal will be back next year, BTW.

Royal had a couple of bad games, but he really bounced back towards the end. I think he convinced the staff that he deserved to be here. He'll definitely be back.....at least I hope.

What does KC free agents look like this year and will we pick from that bunch, maybe for some O-Line depth, or elsewhere on that side of the ball will Saunders being familiar with that group.
