Re: Its time for joe to step down.
Notice how this "retarded" thread has a 150 more posts than the other "smart" threads that came up after this game. Despite a third of the posts being personal attacks, much more interesting perspectives here than "$hit the refs fucked us" and "McCardell catch that wasn't ruled a catch."

Re: Its time for joe to step down.
We don't need to scream for Gibb's job at this point. He is not getting the job done and everybody knows it. Let the season play out and he will probably step down. Do you really thing this team is going to beat the Cowboys even once. Nothing has changed with this team since Snyder took over. A lot of it isn't Gibb's fault. But there are some consistent issues that haven't gone away since he's been here. Good game for Jason Campbell today!

Fair weather fans, are you friggin kidding me. I have watched this team underachieve for the last 15 years, I think we deserve a little more than 2 playoff appearences since 1992. If they were calling for Andy Reid and McNabbs head last week and they were able to come to FedEx field and beat the Redskins at home, what does that say about the Redskins?

Maybe we should separate this website for real fans, not fair weather fans. Either you support the Redskins thru thick or thin or quit being a Redskins fan. |

Re: Its time for joe to step down.
To ask for Gibbs to step down midseason is about as ignorant of a suggestion as I can think of. That being said, we're clearly a poorly coached team. I know SmootSmack always reverts back to blaming the players for miscues - dumb penalties, drops, etc. But when it happens week after week, and we blow games repeatedly, that's a symptom of the coaching staff. No question.
We couldn't come up with a play call to get us a TD when we had 7 chances inside the 10 yard line. We carve them up all day and then we totally stall? Gibbs HAS TO BE taking over playcalling inside the red zone. We waste a timeout early in the 3rd on 4th & 1 only to kick a FG anyway? That timeout could have challenged McCardell's catch late (ruled incomplete) in the 4th. The list goes on. The overall lack of fire in all aspects, the rapidly collapsing defense, the lack of fundamentals and inability to close- that comes down to coaching. I don't give a shit if we sing koombaya in the locker room and if we "fight our guts out." I want to win. We've been griping about allowing big plays, dumb penalties, bad play calling, poor clock management, and bad offense since the 1st game of Gibbs' return. Bottom line, Joe Gibbs part 2 isn't working. It's just not. We're 3 1/2 years in and have all the same problems we've had since he took over. Nothing is getting better (except our QB). Remember folks, aside from that 5 game run in '05, we've been lower tier team his entire second tenure. You can never go home again. IMO this year's Redskins team is on the low end of average.

This reactionary BS after every loss drives me f'ing crazy. Why doesn't anyone ever jump on the players for their shitty plays? If you ask me, there were multiple plays that cost them the game, but if you wanted to make it really simple and look at one single play that cost them the game it was Cooley jumping offsides that cost them a TD to put them game away. Why isn't anyone jumping on Cooley for his mistake?

you cant be serious, Santana Moss was absolutely blasted after his game in Green Bay. Fans were asking for Portis' head before the past two games, the players are constantly rediculed while the coaching staff is left alone. |

Re: Its time for joe to step down.
I just don't really see any argument. Besides "he doesn't have that killer instinct" (what the hell does that mean exactly?) What is it exactly that Joe Gibbs did to lose the game today? I know everyone is pissed. I was pissed, my wife was pissed at me because I was such an asshole during the game, but I just don't see where you watched the game today and were like, Joe Gibbs has to go. Players didn't make plays. What genius play would you have called to score a TD inside of the 3 yard line? How could Gibbs have made different decisions to win the game? What exactly was it that Gibbs did to cost the Skins the game? I saw a bunch of players fail to make plays but I didn't see a coaching staff lose a game.
