Re: Redskins final cutdown thread
betts needs to be gone. I can see rock a bit cause he is a special teams leader but some of those young wr's did a good job returning kicks in preseason

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread
Lots of back-up Qbs out there right now. Joey Harrington, first round pick, among them. The move to cut Chase and IR Colt makes sense now.

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread
So I guess the final roster is as follows
QB - Campbell, Collins RB - Portis, Betts, Mason, Cartwright FB - Sellers TE - Cooley, Davis, Yoder WR - Moss, Kelly, Thomas, Mitchell, ARE LT - Samuals, Batiste LG - Dockery, Rhinehart C- Rabach, Montgomery RG - Thomas, E. Williams RT - Heyer, M. Williams DT - Haynesworth, Griffin, Golston, Montgomery DE - Daniels, Carter, Wynn, Jarmon, Alexander OLB - Orakpo, McIntosh, Wilson MLB - Fletcher, Blades, Henson CB - Rogers, Hall, Smoot, Barnes, Tryon, Westbrook SS - Horton, Doughty FS - Landry, Moore K - Shuisam P - Smith LS - Albright I'm guessing the practice squad will include the following C. Daniels (QB), D. Young (LB), C Glenn (LB), E. Williams (FB), Aldrige or Dorsey (RB's), R Jackson (DE assuming he's eligable), Edit: Forgot Antonio Dixon (DT).

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread
4 Running Backs? Why do we need 4 Running backs? I'm thinking we should of cut Betts or Cartwright and keep our 2009 pick in Williams-FB. Maybe, we can use Betts as some solid trade bait? He could possibly go to someone for some more solid depth at O-line?
I just think I would rather have Jackson on, or Chase Daniel more then 4 running backs. I mean, CP had 350+ carries last year, and I know he's not going to get that many this year, but he will try. I jsut don't see all four of them being as productive as they can be. Rock does a good job on special teams, but I like Thomas back there better. He seemed quicker, and gave us that big play potential. I guess you can't cut another ST player since we already got rid of 3 before the preseason. Meh.. 4 RB's is a waste. |

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread
I dont see why we keep Westbrook, is he really gonna make it on the field? If Tryon, Barnes, or Westbrook are seeing time anywhere other than special teams, we are in trouble.

My only two surprises were Robert Thomas and Jeremy Bridges. I would have never expected D'Anthony Batiste over Bridges.

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread
I have BIG concerns with our O-line depth. I can't believe Mike Williams and Edwin Williams both made the team over Bridges. And Batiste? Um, ok.

i don't think it was too bad of them to keep 4 rbs this year. i'm thinking the skins will prolly let thomas take over kickoff returns and let mason take over the back up rb spot next season. rock and betts will both be gone after this season, just my guess.

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread
I could see Garcia coming here if we get in pinch with the Qb situation.
