I would just like to say that I'm tired of the "arguably best DT in the league" nonsense. AH is not even close to the best DT in the league, unless you don't value things like: teamwork, commitment, and discipline. It's sad that the absence of those qualities doesn't seem to affect how people rank him among his peers. He's still at the top, even though he can't function on any team, and you can't count on him for anything.

AH just doesn't get it, and it's obvious he never will.

What annoys me most about all this is he's a constant reminder of what's been ailing this franchise since Snyder took over. It's unbelievable that after all the bad moves that have come through Redskins Park, we're sitting here today talking about perhaps the worst of one of them all.

I just don't see where he's worth the trouble. Trade him for anything you can get. I don't care if it's only a 7th rounder. And if it comes down to it, I would seriously considering cutting him.

Fat Albert is a prim a dona. His attitude and work ethic is the cancer that the new regime is trying to kill. I'm in Shanny's corner. Fat Albert is too good of a player to just let walk, but he has to be a professional. A professional takes his job seriously and puts the work in. Fat Albert is a product of the times. He has this sense of entitlement but doesn't have the work ethic. This is an internal team problem. It's time for the veteran leadership to pull Fat Albert over to the side and find out is he with the team or is he going to be a sideshow. If is going to continue to be a sideshow, the team needs to send him packing. I've yet to see this so called "Best Defense Tackle in the Game" perform for a complete game. His fat ass needs to get with the program.

At this point I have zero faith that AH will just miraculously come around, fall in line, and get with the program. He's already saying he's going to be a no-show for next year's offseason program. He is what he is, a turd.

As much as it would hurt to cut him outright, I would rather go that route than let him continue to be a distraction in the locker room. Sometimes you just have to own up to a bad decision and cut your losses.

This makes Shanahan look like a bitch for letting Albert trash him and the rest of the team, and MS not doing anything about it.

Jim Zorn let people walk all over him, especially CP, but now it looks like its the same old same old....

Well, to be fair, Shanahan came out Sunday and drew the line in the sand, no practice = no play. I don't see how anyone looks at MS and sees him not doing anything. If anything, I think you see AH's whining as proof that MS is not giving in to an impetuous player. The 2 main questions are, at what point does the shape up or ship out message sink in to AH? and if it doesn't can we get any compensation at all for him?

Agreed. MS isn't taking a backseat to anyone.

No I don't think so, I think it's more of the owner finally backing up the coach.Danny boy's phone has been off the hook for AH.

I'm curious as to exactly how that no practice no play mandate is going to play out over the course of the season. Key players are going to get nicked and maybe unable to practice much, if at all, during the course of the week. Does that mean they don't play on Sunday should they be able to go by weeks end? If that be the case, we're going to be presented with some very unpredictable line-up's as the season progresses.

From what I've seen with Shanahan in the past, at least with regard to his running backs, if they practice on Friday then they'll play on Sunday.

I really don't know what Shanahan's practice has been in the past regarding practicing vs. playing. I do know that saying if a player dosen't practice he dosen't play is a broad and blanket statement. Curious as to how it would/could be applicable to the r/b's exclusively. I would want to think a statement like that would apply throughout the team. I'll be watching to see how the doctrine is applied as the season moves forward.

I sure hope so. Thats what the team needs is a strict coach. Joe Gibbs wouldnt yell, Jim Zorn had no balls, and hopefully Mike Shanahan is the guy to not fool around with.
