i think you have to look at the team as a whole, you can't keep scapegoating players year in and year out, shit this is the third? player we have turned into a scapegoat this year alone. we are a horrible team and mcnabb hasn't played great but he isn't the only problem with this team, and i would say he isn't the biggest problem either.

No, he's not the only problem, but he IS A PROBLEM. And if you're a problem, adios. McNabb has only gotten by on reputation this year. Hell, we traded for him based on reputation and he made (minimum) an extra 3.5 m this year off of that same rep. It was a huge mistake, one that a lot of us saw coming. But keeping his ineffective, bounce passing ass around and pretending like he's not a shell of his former self would be insanity.

OK, what other team had these same issues with a coach and they have done just fine?

Also we don't know this for sure but if it is true maybe they want to see if we chould keep him as our 2nd string QB.

If your talking about keeping Mcnabb as 2nd string that can't happen. You can't afford to pay a back up 10 million next year. And just like everyone else I dislike Danny Schneider but in this case, I would probably be ripping Shanny a new one for costing me essentially 3.4 million for 3 games by Mcnabb when they resigned him. Might as well have used that money and fed the homeless or something.

I'm so frustrated this franchise can't seem to get out of it's own way. We have cornered the market of combining poor on field performances with more self created drama than anyone in sports! I've never been close to giving up on one of my teams but dammit they are making me strongly consider it!

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

I just hope that if we do cut McNabb we don't move to Grossman or Beck as the answer for 2011.

But see this is news to get worked up over, Hunter Smith being waived...not so much

ditto that

I think it's pretty clear now that DM will be dealt in the offseason. Question is what is their plan now? A rookie? A free agent? It can't be Grossman or Beck, it just can't be. Can it?

thats the thing that gets me. why would we bench mcnabb at this point? it forces us to cut him. if we had just let the season play out, we could have traded him to arizona or minnesota in the offseason.

Re: Report: Grossman Starting on Sunday

Lets go on and get through this season, take AJ Green in the first and Kellen Moore in the 2nd !

F it, I have no ties to Donovan. I like him as a player but as a Redskin, so the F what. Be easy champ, go have a nice couple seasons in AZ and let us fix this shyt here.

I don't have a problem with them benching him. It's how the Shanahan's handle it. YOU'RE 5-8 AND NOT GOING ANYWHERE! Just come out and tell Rex on Mon so he can prepare and show DM respect and tell him Monday. You wait til Fri??? WTF?? I don't know about anyone else but I'm slowly getting tired of the Shanahans.

They knew at the beginning of the week. It's only now the rest of us are finding out

Re: Report: Grossman Starting on Sunday

So I guess a move like this confirms that Mike Shanahan will probably be fired at season's end???

Are we trying Grossman out or KS? I think it is a combo, and I am fine with a ham sandwich starting for a year if we can get Line help from dealing McNabb.

Re: Report: Grossman Starting on Sunday

Mike Wilbon, Thom Loverro, and Steve Czaban all think that Shanahan's essentially one and done in Washington ala Marty and this is Shanahan's way of saying "F U" to washington. he's doing "donoughts in the lawn" on his way out.
