Re: Roster Cuts coming and gone

A lot of bleedingheartness over a guy that has never done anything for the Redskins except to become a useless draft pick.
And he made how much money while doing that?

Approximately 1.6 million guaranteed on his contract...and whatever incentives he met, which are probably very few, if any. Not sure about taxes though...

Re: Roster Cuts coming and gone

So 864 players will be cut between now and tomorrow at 6pm. Of those players, only 256 will find spots on the practice squads. Does anyone think that the Skins might find a useful player in those cuts? Anyone expecting any surprises?

I thought it was interesting on the broadcast last night that Bruce Allen left open the possibility of trades happening before tomorrow evening. We have a roster that seems to have some hidden talent, I wonder if we might be looking for a couple draft picks rather than just cutting players. Also Lance Briggs has formally asked the Bears to trade him, per Twitter.

I hope that we pick up a young QB to develop. It is hard to predict who without knowing who got cut. But if Ariz cuts Bartel, we should bring him back for a second tour in DC.

Re: Roster Cuts coming and gone

Is Briggs an inside backer? Does he still have anything left in the tank? If so, Stallworth for Briggs straight up (maybe throw in a 7th rounder). Why does he want to be traded?

If he's an OLB - nm.

Two articles on Briggs, 2nd one is older

Lance Briggs formally asks Bears to be traded | National Football Post

and

Bears' Linebacker Lance Briggs, an Underrated Star | Bleacher Report

I don't know Chicago's defense, so I don't know if he makes sense to try for or not, just a "named" player.

We've ran that rabbit once before. Hell no. I have issue with a guy who's 3 years into a heavily front loaded contract wanted to renegotiate. They've already paid all the big money so now he's using that same tactic as before. I normally favor players in situations like these (especially rookie contracts), but **** Lance Briggs.

If we're going to bring someone this late, they better be from a 3-4 defense. Regardless, I think it'd be stupid to trade for anyone at this point.

Re: Roster Cuts coming and gone

Lance Briggs again? Remember the proposed trade w/the bears in 07; our #6 for Briggs & #31? We got Landry w/that pick.

Briggs is approaching the age of decline & he's always been a weak side 4-3 OLB. We've got 2 great starters at OLB & as we saw last night we could have a couple pretty good backups in Jackson & White.

Lance Briggs and his agent Rosenhaus are both just real POS. This guy whined and complained to get the big deal and now he is bitching to renegoiate just half way through a 6 year deal? Eff that bullsh*t, Bears arent gonna give in and trade him aways. Dont want him here.

Apparently he's not smart either. He signed a shitty deal not worthy of someone of his caliber. I would not give fool a dime more. At 31 I would not be surprised if he gets cut after this season.
