That's about all you needed to see.

It's unfortunate what has happened with McNabb. It's rare though for an athlete to end a career on strong note. But it's usually not so bitter as McNabb's situation.

Wouldn't you agree that McNabb has been unappreciated his entire career?

In Philly yes, but I think he has been over rated as a elite, top flight QB. Ive always thought of him as solid QB, nothing more.

To an extent, but so have many other players

Re: Was McNabb misused in Minnesota also?

There's a big difference between RG3 and McNabb. McNabb was a washed up veteran QB even before the Redskins traded for him. He did do well at times while in a Redskin uniform, but being a 12 year veteran and being a rookie are two different things. While McNabb was a set in his ways type of quarterback, RG3 is fresh from college and hasn't played an NFL down yet. He doesn't have the baggage that McNabb has. Mike Shanahan can mold RG3 and initiate him into the same west coast system that McNabb couldn't grasp. So, therefore, it's useless for him to speak about RG3 in that regard. As for him saying the Shanahans are egomaniacs, that may be true.

Donovan McNabb says he’s the most criticized quarterback in NFL history | Shutdown Corner - Yahoo! Sports

Another McNabb Pity party I see.............. This is actually the only Chris Chase article of yahoo I have ever seen and thought he actually did a decent job with. Most of his articles are trash....

Mcnabb can kiss my ass. I never wanted him here in the first place I've hated him since he was drafted... just like some of his own fans

McNabb has always been well polished and the consummate politician. He has a way of never taking any blame for his failings and letting others do so.

Casey Rabach on the Shanahans, Donovan McNabb and egos - DC Sports Bog - The Washington Post

There’s definitely some strong egos in the NFL, and there [were] three of the strongest egos right there in Redskins Park. So it’s hard to fit all that together, and build a cohesion in such a short time. But definitely wish it would have went the other way.”............I mean, that’s a tough one to answer,” Rabach replied. “Because Donovan knows what his strengths are. And were they using all his strengths to the fullest? No. But then again, we go back to that give-and-take, on both sides. Donovan’s got to understand that what he did in Philly for 12 years ain’t gonna be the same thing he was gonna do on another team. I think he was used in some [ways] very good, but I think there could have been some more give on each side.”.........................On McNabb going public with his critique: “Each player has his own way of dealing with it. Donovan definitely had more downs than his ups when he was with us in Washington, and there was hard feelings I think coming out of there....I think Donovan’s just a very truthful guy. I think he has very strong feelings and is not afraid to express them, ever. I think Donovan just wants to have his story heard. I think he was pretty quiet about the whole situation as it was going on. He was trying to put the team first and didn’t really want to air his dirty laundry at the time. Now it’s his time to come out with his side of the story.”

On the sour coach-quarterback relationship: “I think they asked Donovan to do a lot of things that he wasn’t comfortable with, and it was never a give-and-take kind of relationship. It was Mike and Kyle’s way, and only that way. I think Donovan wanted to change a few things to his strengths, and do things he knew he was good at. Mike and Kyle had one way of doing it, and Donovan had another way of doing it, and they just butted heads, and nobody was gonna give.”

McNabb needs to try out for a Canadian Football League team. His NFL career is practically over. Unless Andy Reid brings McNabb back to Philly to be a back up QB, I don't see him playing in the NFL again.

If he really wants to salvage some public spotlight, he NEEDS to re-unite with Terrell Owens on the Allen Wranglers.

I'm being completely serious. It would be a circus worth at least checking out.

It's working for T.O.

Re: Was McNabb misused in Minnesota also?

I'm having a scary thought now.

Maybe Philly fans know what they're talking about.

Re: Was McNabb misused in Minnesota also?

I think fans' petty grudge toward DM is far more pathetic than his grudge about the Shanahans. It was handled poorly on both ends but ultimately the HEAD COACH is given the title of HEAD COACH for a reason.

The best way to move past Mike's mistakes, which are mostly a product of his ego, is to start winning. That said if the offensive scheme doesn't "click" with RGIII at the helm and we continue to see, say, McNabb type of results there will be, and deservedly so, signficant criticism of this little family adventure the Skins are on.
