Re: Skins/Bills postgame
Finally got to watch the game from DVR. The defensive front 7 looked good. Very stout and stingy up front. The secondary wasn't as sharp, although personally I think it (already) looks better than last season.
Griffin looked poised and confident, even when he had the defense flying at him. In regular season he'll take off with the ball a few times and the defenses will start staying home to simply contain him...bet on it. Garcon already has won me over with his toughness. I went back and peeked at vids of Garcon and he has been pretty fearless over the middle, but he struggled underneath in space and I think that's why Waybe was the consistent go to guy. We already have a very good WR working underneath and finding open space in Moss, so I think Garcon and Moss will compliment each other well this season. Not really sure what to think of Morgan. He doesn't look very sure-handed though. I think we should be very tough by the second half of the season, which is a good thing looking at our schedule.

Re: Skins/Bills postgame
Did anyone notice how poorly Niles Paul played? His blocking was suspect and so far at least he has terrible hands. Kinda makes me question why we didn't grab Ballard or another quality TE during the off-season.
Also, Morris looks very promising. I wonder if he'll be an upgrade over Royster? Helu is still our fastest guy and his vision is improving, definitely a keeper. Hopefully, Hightower can be 100% this season though. Maybe Hightower, Helu and Morris? If Hightower can't go hard Royster gets to stay?

Yes, I too question why we didn't grab a TE who won't play this season

Secondly, why didn't we address the TE situation is a fair question. But why didn't we bring in Ballard makes little to no sense with your concerns. Niles Paul is raw, so how does bringing in a TE who can't even play this year help at all? Will that help Paul's development in any way? Why not just work on developing Paul, and why are we casting him aside after one preseason game? Fred Davis is one puff away from a year long suspension. So he's out for this year and so is Ballard, how does that help. The only argument I can maybe see is Cooley, but again you're talking about bringing in someone who offers us nothing this year. I just don't see why anyone would knock the FO for that

Re: Skins/Bills postgame
If Paul has 2 more games like that one, he won't make the cut.

Re: Skins/Bills postgame
paul was moved to TE because he wasn't going to make it as a WR, but his blocking was/is good.
they didn't move him there because he's a pro bowler that's just been playing the wrong position all his life. |

Re: Skins/Bills postgame
Maybe its me, but I don't see Niles Paul making a lot of plays this year anyway. I read something about RG3's targets in camp and its been 60-70% Garcon and Moss with a little Hankerson,Davis,Cooley RBs thrown in. If he keeps dropping passes, he may still make the team but get deactivated on game day. The problem right now is that with no Daryl Young, you have Cooley playing FB when you really need he and Davis playing TE.
