Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread wk 1
Can we make it through at least 1 season without a starter getting suspended?

ESPN NFL - Redskins DE Jarvis Jenkins suspended 4 games (violated policy on performance-enhancing substances)
Are you Fing kidding me?!?

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread wk 1
His statement says he was shocked and confused because the supplements he was taking made no reference to any banned substance. I wonder whether he will try to appeal this (whether his statement is true or not).
Separately, I don't know why teams don't have a standing rule that no one is to take a supplement without running it past a Redskins trainer first. I know they're ostensibly grownups, but this kind of thing should be preventable. |

Jenkins, Jordan Black last season, are cases like these really a case of innocent "over the counter" or even "off the shelf" medicines tripping the NFLs drug tests? Or is that more likely an excuse a player uses when caught knowingly taking something against NFL rules? |

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread wk 1
I criticize Pete Carroll for his team's apparent drug policy, but the Skins need to step up and make it clear it's not acceptable.
Makes you wonder if his rookie preseason flash was based on other than pure talent. |

There is alot of funny stuff in suplements, and the FDA does not regulate them. It's kinda stupid at this point to blame it on your supplements.

I think we should trade our 2nd & 3rd picks next year for Jason Taylor.
Sorry ... having a Vinny redux moment. Chill ... all will be well. We are just giving the other teams a headstart so our SB Championship run looks more impressive.

What do you mean by that? Unless he is still on the team?

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread wk 1
I don't see the hits to AC, Robinson and Jenkins as big deals. The FO had to of know AC was a long shot to return. He's long in the tooth and it was a flat nasty injury. Robinson was nowhere near ready to backup Fletcher, let alone start. He showed almost nothing last year and already had bad injury history. Our FO may well have written him off already. We'll bring in a solid FA to backup Fletch this season and look to a long term solution after this season, though I think Rob Jackson is still interesting to look at there.
Jenkins is a disappointment but we have options with Cofield moving over and Baker or the other big guy playing NT those first four games. Or Jenkins may even get to appeal, who knows.
