Re: Draft grades
If last year was just a bad season for Leno, that would be awesome. Because he's only 31, he's plenty young to still have some juice left in the tank.

Re: Draft grades
I wanted B Jones and either J M Schmitz or O Torrance. Didn't have a chance (without trading up) to draft B Jones or any other "top" tackle... passed on the other two.... I'm hoping the defense is top 5 and the O-line isn't terrible.

But I would have liked to have added 100% tackle prospect, ala a Breeland (BYU) type prospect at some point. I like Daniels as a player but when everyone else besides Rivera says he's likely a G, I tend to think he's best at G. He's athletic though, so maybe he can be the swing T week 1. But I'd feel better with a more known option. Looking forward to the post-draft cuts that will be happening league wide soon.

Re: Draft grades
As long as you don't conflate "most improved" with "good" that statement can make logical sense. (article says top 3 most improved)

Re: Draft grades
Here I thought I found a good news story, something to be happy about, and someone has to pull the rug right out from under me. LOL. I guess it's just easier to focus on the negatives, turn positives into negatives, and walk around with half empty glasses.

Here are my expectations. The offense will improve, the defense will improve, and we'll finally find a return game. However, it won't translate to more wins due to the tough schedule. 10 of their 17 games are against playoff teams from last year, along with games against improved teams like Jets, Bears, Broncos, Falcons. Unfortunately, I think we're headed toward yet another average-record season, maybe slip into the postseason with Howell OR Brissett, maybe just miss it... somewhere in the 7-10 win range. Something to build on though - hopefully. |

My approach towards anyone is based on what ive seen. Saw only one game from Howell but a lot of his college play. I have never seen this new oline play together, nobody has, so i have no approach. I definitely think we improve on both sides of the ball, mainly because it won’t take much to improve especially on O. I’ve fallen into this trap for years though. If last year’s team can win 7 or 8 or 9 than this year’s team can win 10, 11, or 12! Lol. And every year I believe it. I really am a glass half full guy, but being a glass half empty guy is almost always a safer bet with this team, and im sick of the excuses- schedule, injuries, new scheme, snyder, etc etc etc. We are perpetual losers at this point and there are plenty of examples of games that we should have won that have nothing to do with the tired excuses. Snyder being gone is a huuuuuge plus though. Im just going to wait for W’s before i see the glass differently. It is too painful to get my hopes up again for no reason! |

Re: Draft grades
That dance right there, just sums up the state of the O-line last year. When I first saw it, I though it was photoshopped. Pathetic.

Re: Draft grades
Oh, I don't think you should be so judgmental about it. On the positive side, I think the G was showing good technique on the play by keeping his hands inside while blocking his own teammate.

Re: Draft grades
Same. The first time I saw it I thought there is no way this actually happened.
