My guess is that they took a gamble when they traded down that certain people would be there...and they weren't.

Putting a lot of faith in our current D-Line right now.

Well it paid off last year when nobody thought it would.

Well, it looks like Durant Brooks can punt! Apparently he is one of the best punters available. I guess the Skins are really going by the board.

It's hard for me to believe that we couldn't have drafted Brooks in the 7th or as an UDFA. IMO another big reach by Cerrato and Co.

Scouts Inc ranked him as a quality 5th round selection

Maybe so, but I would be willing to bet no more punters are taken until the 7th round.

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread

In all seriousness though, I understand it. Sure, I wish they would've waited until like the last pick in the 7th round if they even had to use a pick on a punter because I feel we have much bigger needs, but Frost could use some competition. And it doesn't hurt if the guy is widely considered one of the best punters in the draft.

In case anyone cares, we will have drafted as many players this year as we did in 2006 and 2007 combined.

You missed the first 5.5 hours of the 2nd day of the draft for church? You make me sad.
