Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
I bought PUBG (preview) over the summer, had a coupon on eBay and got it for $15. I didn't even notice that it was a download code, so when the box arrived and there was no disc I was mad. Then I remembered that it's 2018.
Anyways, it's the first time I've bought a digital code instead of a disc. The game plays fine so I'll be open to it in the future. I just like selling my old games (discs) to help out w the costs of the new ones. Like Madden, I usually sell it in July or so, get about $10-$15 towards the new copy > wait a week or so after it's released and buy it for $50 on eBay. So the total cost ends up being around $35-$40 instead of $60.

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
Really tired horizon, for a dad of 2 and a full time job the learning curve is to steep. I just don’t have the time, which makes me sad.

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
A part of me feels bad for the people who worked 100 hour work weeks to make RDR2, but on the flip side after managing to not fan-boy over it for the last 2 years I'm in full hype mode as I await my copy to arrive tomorrow.
If it's as good as IGN says it is (first 10/10 review I've seen for R*) I'm gonna take a much needed reprieve from here and the politics board. Red Dead Redemption 2 arrives tomorrow fuck politics talk |

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
If I was 25 I’d be playing it at midnight. At 45 I’ll be up at 6 to play. Funny how things change lol

Slow moving at first, to be expected considering it's a long story, definitely looks beautiful, so far so good

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
Spoilers ahead.
...... On the mission where you go with Hosea to hunt the grizzly, after the mission is over I decided to stay and hunt the super grizzly myself. I killed the grizzly, skinned him, and as I was hightailing it back to camp I came over a hill and my horse hit another guy on a horse at full speed. This fucker pulled his six shooter almost immediately and shot me dead, now I lost the skin for selling because it sent the skin to the trapper only to be used for crafting. Fuckin A lol. |

lol, right after I got the bear I came across a woman who’s horse collapsed and she needed a ride. I would have needed to drop the pelt for her to get on the horse, I said nope woman you better get walking |

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
Just played through the first standard missions...got my first chance just to walk around and explore. Unbelievable graphics..shit has come a long. Game play seems cool...little slow but will get used to it.

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
I've been doing everything but the missions lol, spent most of today playing dominoes and poker, and trying to go hunting on the side.
My only gripe with the game so far is it seems you can only put one or two smaller predator pelts on your horse at a time. I enjoyed going hunting in the first RDR where you can sit at one spot all day and collect like 5 bear pelts before you go sell them, but unless R* lets you upgrade the horse it seems like that won't be possible. |

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
So I grab the horse to go exploring...left the camp and just went up the down a trail about 200 yards...the wind and snow picked up and on the screen it said turn around and go back to camp weather conditions too harsh. So I turned around and the horse keeled over and died. I was like what the fuck...turned it off
