Okay. I'll take a shot.

The Skins first FA signing will be K Ryan Longwell because this FA market is deep in kickers and a good one could make a huge difference given the close games in this era of parity.

Re: Predict our first major player acquisition

Why are there so may votes for Adam Archuleta? Don't get me wrong, I like the guy, but his signing would probably mean we don't retain Ryan Clark. Clark is a beast (I know Gregg Williams and Marcus Washington think the world of him), and I'd hate to see him go since he's my favorite player. Not that it really matters to anybody else.

B/c Lenny P's reported the Redskins are going to get him. And even though I don' t like him, he did call the Jason Campbell trade up about 2 days before it happened. And it just so happens that Lenny hates the Redskins just enough to try and call em out on any move they make before they make it.

Re: Predict our first major player acquisition

That's a relief. I thought you were ripping on Clark.
Clark will never be a pro bowler or big star, but his work ethic, guts, and hard-nosed style of play make him a classic Gibbs kind of guy. He reminds me a little of another undersized safety, a former Redskin named Alvin Walton.

Don't really see that comparison? Exact opposties if you ask me. Waltons big attribute was hitting, Clarks is covering.

clark would be a lot better if he were 6'4" 280lb and ran a 4.2

Re: Predict our first major player acquisition

Actually I've always thought Clark's strength was his hitting over coverage... here's his Scouts Inc. bio

Quote:
Comment:
Clark is a very active strong safety. He is always around the ball or near the action. He is best versus the run. He has the ability to key and diagnose the run and seems instinctive when locating the ball. He is good on run support both outside and inside. However, Clark is a better run stopper than a pass defender. He does not have overall speed and quickness. He lacks change of direction and body control. He is stiff in the hips and does not have a smooth transition or ease of movement and he is not fluid on his back pedal. He lacks catch up speed coming out of his breaks. He is a much better player in zone coverage than in man coverage.

Not to throw fuel on the fire but it was too good to pass up.
