But just speaking frankly, giving my opinion about Mark Brunell? He didn't lose it for us, so that's good. This thread has people saying he played like a pro bowler today. Um, no. But he didn't lose it.

All I'm saying is SGG didn't say anything about him being the answer long-term. No one did. And like a lot of us have said yeah he's been part (key word: part) of the problem during our losses this year. But just for today, can't we appreciate his game and the win? Can we just take a break for, oh I don't know, 24 hours, not to jump down his throat? So many here are so busy trying to find fault and blame and reasons to not be happy about this team that they can't just enjoy a great win today. Let's be like teams themselves are after wins, especially big wins, savor the win for a couple of days and get back to work on Tuesday.

Great point. If you are really looking for opportunities to criticize this game, you are missing out on one of the the wonderful moments in Redskin fan history.

What I don't like to see on these message boards is people telling others to "take their bashing elsewhere" and stuff like that. It should be a board where you're free to express whatever opinion you like.

This thread was started with the purpose of giving props to Brunell. I'm of the opinion that he's not deserving of any significant props. He completed 60% of his passes and was very fortunate that two were not intercepted. He did make a couple impressive throws, one down the seam to Thrash, and the TD to Cooley. But his play overall was nothing that tons of other QBs in the league (like Damon Huard, Tony Romo, and Chad Pennington) couldn't do.

It's very possible for people to enjoy the win and at the same time be realistic about isolating Brunell's performance within a great win, and calling a spade a spade. He did just enough for us to win today, with some help from some Cowboy defenders who dropped some INTs.

But if I can comment, it will be a sad day when the Warpath stifles the opinions of others because they choose to examine Brunell in a manner that is not entirely positive in spite of a victory.

I could not agree with you more. I was wondering how many............fans really are disapponted the we won? Disappointed they can't hack Gibbs, Brunell, Williams, Joan of Ark, the Muffin Man for one more week? How many look forward to a loss this week for more of the same. If I was inclinded to cry baby, persecute, prosecute, and spread misery to the degree I read in this site EVERY week, I would find something else that made me feel good, not miserable!!!!!!!!

Maybe you can point out the part of my post that suggests YYEEEEEahhhhh (what you said)????? I would agree with you that bunell sucks is equally as useless. The thrust of the statement is, there is way to much useless, baseless anti-skin misery types around this site MUCH of the time. If that's who you are, it's your right!

This kind of comment is thrown around far too much. How is not liking Brunell the same thing as wanting the Redskins to lose to the Cowboys? That's just ridiculous. I can promise you that no true Redskin fan was unhappy with the win yesterday.

people are just still pissed off cause this "superbowl contender" is still only 3-5 after stealing a win. this was the best overall effort this year, but we barely won, and our playoff hopes are still probably a pipe-dream since our fully healthy D still gave up 400 yards and we won't have tie breakers to get if we're tied in W-L records.

even with a win over dallas, the team is still a disappointment overall right now :/.

yeah I'm on cloud nine after the win... and if we're watching the season just for one game at a time, I'm content until next sunday... but I still WANT to believe we're gonna be better than last year... we went out and made all of these improvements and come out sucking balls... it sucks overall to be a skins fan this YEAR, and we're gonna have that sinking feeling even after a compelling win like this...

Jason Campbell is like death to some people. Everyone knows its an inevitability, but some of us will hang on to the life support machine even though the coma's irreversible and the brain's dead, and when you get that glimmer of brain activity you think, "this has got to be better than death, because its not death..." but you have no Idea what death will be like, except that it will happen.

Coming out and asking opinions about brunell will bring about opinions about brunell... shoulda seen that coming...

He did well today and bought a pass, but Im not convinced that will be a good thing for the future of the team...

Okay, for the record, I thought Brunell played a good game today from what I saw. I'll finalize my statement after watching the rerun that should definitely be on NFLN. But one thing i noticed, was even with Moss out, he still didn't look Randle El's or Lloyd's way a lot. Lloyd only caught two passes for 22 yards and Randle El didn't even have a catch.

I thought he threw to lloyd a good amount today. He would've caught a 40-50yarder but it was called back. I guess the pass interference was from ARE. When we throw it to Lloyd he catches it. He played a good game today.

I don't think Mark Brunell did a single thing in this game that 20 other QBs in the league couldn't do. He did enough for us to win, but in all honesty, the Cowboys gave us this game. TO's dropped deep bomb, they dropped two potential interceptions, and obviously the field goal.

I definately never meant to imply that Brunell is the long-term answer or played like Manning or Brady. All I meant to say was that Brunell played pretty well, particularly when you consider the total lack of a running game and Moss' absence. I started the thread to take note of Brunell's performance because he's been a whipping boy, rightly or wrongly, the past several weeks.
