Ya but we still get a first round pick, we don't trade that away...but what do you think of the players I have us getting? |

Re: 2009 Skins Off Season Plans Ideas, Draft and FA plus cuts
My top 5 priorities
1. Cut Washington, Griffin, Jansen, Dainels, and Springs 2. Re sign Hall and Evans, let Kendall walk 3. Go after after a DT in FA, Suggs at OLB, and Jahari Evans at OG (RFA), and a CB like Ron Bartell from the Rams 4. Make J. Taylor take a pay cut if not show him the door 5. At 13 we should lok at both lines first, this all depends on what we do in FA. For example we're not going to draft an OT if we have Gross, we might trade down in the mid 20's and take Duke Robinson and get a few picks. On Defense we should be looking at 2 areas, OLB, DT. DE is not a pressing need (look at point 2) and DT and OLB depend on what we do in FA. In the third round I'd try to get a C to replace Rabach and in the later rounds look for quality depth on both lines. |

Re: 2009 Skins Off Season Plans Ideas, Draft and FA plus cuts
We need to get rid of a lot of these "good guys". By that I mean when we hear cerrato or larry michaels or zorn (and it used to be Gibbs) say "we'll ____'s real great guy" and this is when they're talking about Jansen or daniels or any of the other vets that we need to get rid of, the front office needs to understand that it's a business and not a " let's be BFFs forever" kinda thing. There better be at least 5 vets gone, if our front office actually cares about building a football team.

... Gross is 29 and appears to be top of the list... i guess that's not the kind of "value" acquisition i had in mind being that our spending money will be pretty tight.

OLB list isn't much better. Pretty sure i heard Suggs wants to stay in Baltimore and who he'll cost an arm and a leg. Leroy Hill sounds like an r-tard and he's a weakside LB anyway. What's the story w/ Michael Boley? DE list is a surprise. EVANS IS THE HIGHEST LISTED END IN A 4-3 SYSTEM!!! I want to keep him but wanted an upgrade too. Maybe just not in the cards.

Man i don't know anything about him. I guess the million dollar question is will he play to prove something being he was benched in ATL (as it sounds like he has some talent). No doubt he'll be cheaper than the FAs above him.

All I know is that to bring in one of those old ass tackles would be a big mistake! We should only address the O-Line through the draft, and anything else should be through FA. The last thing we need is another injured tackle in the midst of the season!

Re: 2009 Skins Off Season Plans Ideas, Draft and FA plus cuts
I don't know THAT much about him but apparently he has some talent and he's only 26 with 4 years experience. It looks like he's good for at least 3 sacks a year and an INT. I'm not sure what happened to him last year, but if he needs a fire lit under his ass, I'm sure Blache could do it. It may have been new coaching, I'm not sure, but for the right price, he may be worth checking out.

Re: 2009 Skins Off Season Plans Ideas, Draft and FA plus cuts
There are 10 Good FA OT's this year.....6 of 10 have 5yrs or less in the league..
No reason we cant pick up 1 or 2 to solidify the line this year...Especially when 3 of them have just come off a SuperBowl Victory .......We can use our 4 draft picks on a (OG/C) or 2 a LB,DE and a change of pace RB....I place a high priority on a OG/C prospects like Alex Mac in the first round after we trade down....Our DT spot will have to wait till next year Cornelius Griffin, Monty and Golston will all be back..look for an addition at DT from the Undrafted FA's pool OT 1 Jordan Gross UFA 6yr 6-5/300 Utah Carolina OT 2 Marvel Smith UFA 9yr 6-5/321 Arizona State Pittsburgh OT 3 Mark Tauscher UFA 9yr 6-4/315 Wisconsin Green Bay OT 4 Jon Runyan UFA 13yr 6-7/330 Michigan Philadelphia OT 5 Tra Thomas UFA 11yr 6-7/335 Florida State Philadelphia OT 6 Stacy Andrews UFA 5yr 6-7/342 Mississippi Cincinnati OT 7 Khalif Barnes UFA 4yr 6-5/325 Washington Jacksonville OT 8 Willie Colon RFA 3yr 6-3/315 Hofstra Pittsburgh OT 9 Vernon Carey UFA 5yr 6-4/333 Miami (FL) Miami OT 10 Tyson Clabo RFA 4yr 6-6/314 Wake Forest Atlanta OT 11 Max Starks UFA 5yr 6-7/337 Florida Pittsburgh |
