Garcia would be an ideal backup here

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread
Special teams would die if Rock left.
Betts still has some vet savvy that Mason doesn't. He also is a good checkdown back as he has good hands. Mason may be a '4th quarter back' to run down the clock so CP doesn't have to shoulder that load. I think Zorn still has jitters about Betts after that Seattle game last season. |

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread
I think I am the only one here who still likes Mike Williams for the long run. I didn't expect him to be starting 1st game, or even to be ready to. But he has shown perseverance, he is definitely a power blocker, and assuming he is active on game days, I could see them putting him in on short yardage situations. I think he is going to get to where he is a reliable G/RT backup.
Batiste??? That on the other hand was discouraging. As is the fact that I still have no idea who will back up Samuels for the few games he most likely will be out this year. I don't like having Heyer be the plan for backing him up. |

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread
I'm all for it if we can sign Tony Pashos to a one-year deal. The thought of D'Anthony starting a game for us should anything happen to Samuals or Heyer scares me.

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread
we should make a poll saying "Do you think the Redskins bring in a Vet, like a Tony Pashos, Levi Jones, Patrick Surtain, Mike McKenzie? And Cut one of these guys that shouldn't of made the team, like Batiste, Wynn, Westbrook, Tryon?"

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread
Batiste goes if Pashos or Jones comes in. Pashos was cut basically because he would not renegotiate his 4.3million salary, and he is a RT, we need a LT backup. So he is probably not the answer. LJ will sign somewhere soon, I believe. Why would you sit out a year???
Wynn is clearly here, if they wanted a different guy we had them on the squad (Jackson) I think Westbrook and Tryon are here also, we have trained them in our system and the FO isn't going to pull someone else in that got cut from someone else. |

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread
BTW the fact that we have PJ5 Avatars at this point is hysterical.

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread
It seemed to me that Dixon was making enough plays to sneak on. Wynn though, I guess the game films showed something I didn't see.

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread
yeah, he showed that a Rook RT can put him on his arse. I cant believe we kept him over some of the other guys we cut.

Re: Redskins final cutdown thread
Wynn probably made the team for what he does in the locker room more then his play. and he is not really that bad against the run
