Well, he may not be on the sidelines the next Monday, but he'll definately be at the game.

Oh. I see what you did there...

I said this in a previous thread, but if the Chiefs win on Sunday, Zorn and Sherman Smith will be out, Sherm Lewis will be O-Coord and someone in house (Gray or Danny Smith are the 2 names linked) will be interim coach. I don't see them bringing an outside guy in until after the season's done.

Anyhow, my personal top notch Gruden source has now gone from Gruden's "not interested" to he "obviously would like to get back into coaching, just wants to make sure it's the right fit wherever he goes"

Again, I'd like for Gruden to bring Bruce Allen with him.
I would be good with this deal IF we could get a decent GM in with him. I'm good with Bruce, AND when Dan askes me, I'll tell him so! Either way it will be an upgrade as JZ is just......over his head

From what that dc examiner article states about Gruden, it kinda scares me. If he truly wants an owner who'll spend $, then we're right back where we were 10 years ago. Of course the saving grace might be the economy, even the danny has to watch his spending, cap or not.

The guy couldn't even develop a QB or pick one while in Tampa. He had 5 at one time and rotated them all, cause they sucked. What do you think he'll do here? He's over rated just like Cowher and Shanahan, the only former coach I would consider is Holmgren.

What he'll do here is get the guy he wants with Snyder's bucks. In Tampa they didn't spend the money he felt they should have in order to win.

Re: Sources: Gruden the front runner

I hope Gruden doesn't come here. He had some terrible offenses at TB that were constantly running dink and dunk crap, couldn't settle on a QB. Plus he got fired for not being able to communicate with the players. Then after he got fired all his dirty laundry came out, the players were just ripping him to pieces. IMO he sounds like an asshole. No thanks. There are plenty of guys out there that would be better than Gruden. But the first thing Snyder needs to do is hire a competent GM and let him make the hire... but that's not going to happen.

I see you failed to bring up his tenure in Oakland when he had the leagues' top Offense. Tampa is a defensive team, thats where their efforts went,Gruden never had much on the other side.

Plus he did step in and take Oakland to the SB then went to the Bucs and took them immediatly to the SB. So if your an owner and think your almost there and would spend any amount to get what you want then perhaps Gruden is the man to get the best out of what players we have now. but I would rather DS think long term and dump Vinny, bring in a bonafied GM or someone who is good at evaluating talent at GM and bring in a bonafied HC to start all over and run the team like it should be run.

True. But I don't see Jerry Rice or Tim Brown on this roster.

Since Snyderrato isn't going anywhere I am only for the Gruden thing if they blow up the roster, otherwise they are just running in place. It will be a different year with the same sad story.

why would gruden come to skins when we've proven our model to be a recipe for failure? i know it comes down to the money, but really, why would anyone (smart) come here without a change in the management structure?

Any coaching change that keeps Snyderatto in charge is just more of the same.

That's why I'm considering a switch. Only a glutten for punishment can watch the Skins win badly and barely squeak out a win every once in awhile.

Limbaugh knows football as well as he understands politics. Or basic logic.
