Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
If they cut him, i'm not saying give up a pick for him. you must think we have 50 picks in this draft competition is good, if we draft Bradford, we should just give him the job no competition right yeah i thought so.

Cleveland fans have to suffer another year. Maybe after that, they'll draft another QB.

So does Jake Delhomme to Cleveland mean that the Browns won't be trading up to get a QB now in the first round/selecting one in the first at 7?

Well after Charlie Frye, Luke McCown and Brady Quinn they could be looking again. Their luck with QB's is on par with ours. Cleveland may be one of those teams interested in staying out of the top five on draft day.

![]() Thing is, Cleveland needs so much help in so many places. They have no receivers at all and basically every position on defense is a mess. Their D is so bad, I don't see how they don't take the best defensive player available at #7. Or maybe Dez Bryant.

If I'm the GM of another team, these recent moves are a sure signal that they intend to part ways with Quinn, so why give up picks for a lame duck QB. I think either they bring Brady Quinn back to camp and let him compete for the starting spot --again--or outright release him. |

Jake Delhomme is single handedly killing the NFLPA's argument about not having a large enough piece of the pie.

Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
Cleveland's had a pretty good offseason so far. The Brodney Pool non-tender was bizarre, but not necessarily hurtful. The Ben Watson signing was strong. The Derek Anderson release was good, if kinda obvious. Pashos was a nice short-term pickup.
I can completely understand the notion that ultimately, Brady Quinn's value doesn't skyrocket in the west coast offense the way that say, Seneca Wallace's does. A 6th round pick seemed high, but whatever. Delhomme is just a bizarre target. He's Anderson, but 8 years older. And he suffers from the same accuracy problems that have slowed Quinn. Except in Delhomme's case, he's been around long enough so that we know that it's not a fluke. The Browns were never going to take a QB at no. 7, but it's hard to see Wallace/Delhomme as a marked improvement over Anderson/Quinn. There's no prospects here. They'll just have to turn to whatever developmental QB they take earlier than planned.

While I think Quinn's trade value has dropped, I would have to believe within the Browns organization his stock remains relatively high. I just don't see how they don't bring Quinn back to camp and compete with two warmed over quarterbacks. |

Yeah I don't think his stock with Cleveland is high at all

Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
Maybe I have been naive on this but I don't have a good feeling for Pineapple Je5us staying with us. It seems that a lot of QBs who have proven a lot more are available. And if you add that with the whole crop from college that is coming in, he may be in trouble.
He better have a perfect offseason. |

Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
He's going to meet with Pittsburgh tomorrow, but most likely will end up a cardinal. He really wants to play with Joey Porter as well, and Arizona may bring in Porter as well, I say since we really need Larry Foote IMO, and since we don't have Levi Jones anymore(he and porter got into a fight a few years back) we should sign porter to a one year deal and foote to a two year deal. Because right now our OLB situation is half set, and our ILB situation is half set.

I have yet to see anything that we have indeed released Levi Jones. He's still listed on the active roster on Redskins.com. |
