Maybe Haynesworth will come out more determined and focused tomorrow and actually shit his pants. This will probably be the first time shitting of the pants is equated to a good thing.
Haynesworth did not act admirably during the offseason. At first, I was on his side. The trainers at Redskins park last year were terrible. I understand wanting to do your own thing to get into shape. Asking for the trade after a 21M pay day is ridiculous.

People are acting like a DT should have to run 3 300yard sprints. That's 9 football fields. Shanny said two because he didnt think Albert would ever finish them. When he did he found an excuse to fail him. Be the bigger man, bury the hatchet, and help a stud player assimilate into the team. Making him start with the 2nd string is enough -- he's obviously in shape -- start building a team instead of tearing one apart.

Albert Haynesworth had no chance to pass this conditioning test regardless of what kind of condition he's in -- bush league move.
The practice of most NFL coaches to air the teams laundry and try to embarrass players in the press has to stop. Keep personnel issues in house.
It is funny how players get fined or suspended or called malcontents if the roles were reversed. Shanahan pulled a bush league move today. Head coach is an authority and should not sink down to level of morons.

Not really. He just gave the media a huge misinformation nugget about Albert. Who is really going to pay attention to the fact that "several players said Haynesworth clearly is in much better shape than he was at this time last season"(RI)?

Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test

As far as I know MS has 90 or so guys towing the line drinking the Kool aid and deamin' the dream.....AND we have one unhappy Big Al....bucking the system?
Team sports should not cater to the individual but rather reward the...team.
MS is sending a message. Hopefully Big can be intelligent enough to hear that there is no....I in team? Man up, Take your lumps, move on......HTTR

I honestly can't believe that some of you guys on here are defending AH and blasting MS. The guy has to set an example to the team and it starts with AH. Yes, what he did was make damn sure that AH would fail the test to show him who the boss is.

The bottom line is that AH took too much time between the first and second run, so he had to do a 3rd.

If you guys want another Jim Zorn with the headset on, please move on b/c we've already found out that won't work around here. The bottom line is that if you cross the coach, you pay the price.

He could have easily beat the hell out of him in camp. Regardless, I'm sick of both of these egos going at it. I hope they can solve this shit by tomorrow so we can move on with our lives.

Personally, I encourage all fans to stop wasting your time talking about this drama crap and discuss relevant football issues in the other threads.

Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test

If the biggest price to pay for thumbing your nose at the organization that gave you a $21M check (based on the premise that you were committed once you too the check) is to run 600 yards again tomorrow.....he's getting off pretty easy IMO. He'll come out tomorrow, do the run and move on.

Did I sin against the saintly and impeccable father of all creation know as Mike Shanahan? I didn't know humans were capable of impeccability.
It's RIGHT ON JASON RIEDS WTF**** RI POST THAT HIS TEAMMATES STATED HAYNESWORTH WAS IN BETTER SHAPE AT THIS TIME THAN LAST YEAR.

Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test

Big Al took a bathroom break because he was tired. He sensed that (unlike in a regular season game last season) if he laid on the field like a beached whale this time, a couple of trainers weren't going to come and help him off the field to a nice seat on the bench and give him some refreshing oxygen. So he had to think of something to do and the bathroom break idea came to him.

The only problem with Al's attempt to, once again, make a half-hearted effort and then quit is that the powerless nice guy, Jim Zorn, isn't the coach here anymore. Now the coach is the all-powerful prick, Mike Shanahan. So Big Al had to try again to do it the right way before he was allowed to quit for today. But, of course, that meant that he failed the test. So he'll have to take it over again and, if necessary, again and again until he learns to not quit.

Since there is no way that Mike Shanahan is ever going to give him a free pass, the next logical step for Big Al is to give up his lazy ways, work hard and pass the test, and then start practicing with the team.

The only problem here is that Big Al failed to pull a slick one on Shanahan. If and when Big Al decides to pay the price, he can be great. Some day, he may even thank Mike Shanahan for getting him started in the right direction.

Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test

They said he looked better, not was in better shape, the two aren't synonymous and the correlation isn't necessarily direct. Haynesworth will get a slap on the wrist each day until he gets it done.
