Re: Game Goats

I nominate Pocket$ $traight for a goat award. Worst armchair coaching I've seen a long time.

Find a post where I said he doesn't contribute. I know he's a beast at times when he's in there, but he's wildly inconsistent and a head case. To boot he has a gigantic contract. He's gonna draw some fire.

I think Pocket$ $traight is Haynesworth. I mean lets look at the facts.

- He constantly defends Albert
- His SN is a reference to financial security
- He hates Mike Shanahan
- He doesn't show up to offseason posting activies

I am not the one who posted a Game Goat thread 5 minutes after we beat Dallas.

You talk like AH is Reggie White. You didn't hear guys from other teams say Reggie quits, you didn't see him floppijg around on the ground cause he was too tired. As I said, another body in there, no more no less. The tape doesn't lie.

And I don't recall ever saying we should trade LL. He just needs to let his play do the talking, not his mouth.

I wasn't on the sidelines so I don't know for sure.
That's what I was thinking, actually. It reminded me of before the Falcons game last year.
IMO, the problem with AH is he cares more about his personal stat line than that of winning. If he can inflict pain and get sacks in a 50-0 blowout loss, I think he's fine with that. But a win when he is basically a non-factor and he's pissed off. A lot of the times when he was getting manhandled was because he was trying to go lateral instead of standing up and taking on blockers (like a NT is supposed to). At end, he might be able to contribute this year, but unless he completely changes his mindset (highly unlikely) he will only be a pass rusher from the middle of the DL much like Holliday is.

Re: Game Goats

After limiting a very potent Dallas offense to 7 points and scoring the teams only TD on defense, I don't think any defensive player should get a goat. On offense though, Sellers (can't catch, don't throw it to him), Rabach (not enough upper body strength), all the wr's (most were invisible and even Moss dropped an easy one in the 4th that should've extended the drive killing more time) and LJ (start trying to get to the ground as soon as you are outside the numbers).
Is this offense seriously any better than Zorn & JC? It looked just as inept as last year.

On defense, it looked better, but still we gave up 350 yds of defense. I give a LOT of credit for not giving the game away in the last 2 minutes. That marks the biggest turnaround in my mind. (watching the play, Roy Williams was just left uncovered, I don't think it was a blown coverage either, he came across underneath and ran in front of 1 player. I think Haslett just accepted that he was not a big concern.)

On offense, our OL looked a ton better, but the net results were the same. We did take some nice shots down the field, and tried the fade - yay. ( MK would have caught that but c'est la vie.)

Re: Game Goats

Im going to give a game goat to the skins fan who hung a spray painted "redskins country" sign on a bridge over I 95 as you leave balt city and enter the county.

we went 4-12 last year, the ravens have owned us when we play them, ravens have been to the conf championship 2 years ago, last year they beat the pats in the 1st round.

lets not thump our chest and puff our feathers too much after a week 1 win against the boys.

ive always thought the majority of skins fans are being two faced when they say "i dont get the so-called rivalry. i dont care about the ravens, there not in our division."
yeah ok buddy. if the script was flipped and we had beaten down the ravens every time we play and we had been to the playoffs with success while the ravens squandered, you bet your bottom dollar skins fans would be all over the ravens fans.

1 win against dallas, and atleast one redskin fan is ready to start drawing the dividing lines.

(i dont actually have a prob with the sign, i liked it but i have never liked how some skins fans say its not a rivalry for reasons other than the fact that we have sucked, sucked against them and dont have any ammunition to say anything. when we get good, imo those same people who say "they arent in our conf, i dont care" are going to turn into the loudest "ravens suck" skins fans)

unbunching my panties now.

I think McIntosh was supposed to cover him on the crossing route but, just as Williams crossed in front of McIntosh, Romo looked like he was going to scramble/run and McIntosh moved up to stop letting Williams run free. Maybe DHall had the zone in the flat but had drifted back to double someone back there. Not sure. Can't believe you wouldn't have someone on all the WRs down there.

While I agree with you on this (about the sign being up after winning just one game), to me it needed to be further up north to be some type of anti-Ravens thing. If it was meant to be a slight against the Ravens, I just don't understand fans from either team that want to make it a rivalry.

I don't know, Roy ran half way across the field without anyone trailing or near him, Rocky did have the protection area Roy ran into, but if he was a real threat in Haslett's mind someone would have been responsible for him. I think Irvin may have been right that we played them 11-10 a lot of the day.

Its was on I 95 south just after you leave balt city and head towards the DC area. it was def done to be a slight to the ravens fans, letting them know we are taking back the columbia/ellicott city area (which went from all skins to a majority ravens). its less than 5 miles outside the balt city line facing travelers leaving balt city and heading to the DC area.

The Emperor has no clothes in your world then. Awful run defense, but hey, we're still going to the Super Bowl. Arian Foster ain't no problem, even though he tore it up....
