The only thing "knowing the playbook" or "knowing the offense" does is allow a QB to demonstrate his natural talent or lack thereof more quickly. Tannenhill shouldn't need to think "Okay, he called a Skyjet tiger blue 91 - who is my primary receiver on that?" Rather, he will know the primary and secondary w/out thinking and focus on "Just Playing". The only question will be "Does he have the ability to speed up his game?"

I would suggest we will know relatively quickly whether or not Mr. Tannenhill has got what it takes to succeed in the pros. Not saying he must have an Andy Dalton year to be a success, just thinking that if he "Blaine Gabbert's", the Dolphins may have to think long and hard about Barkley next year.

Per Adam Schefter: Chase Daniel sprained his thumb after hitting it on a helmet (It isn't mentioned, but it's assumed the pass he was injured on was a face melting throw for a 80 yard touchdown).

Somewhere, Smootsmack is inconsolable.

anyone familiar w the process of what the giants were trying to do w ballard? i thought he was already under contract and they would have been able to place him on ir w/o placing him on waivers. anyone shed light upon my darkness?

I wouldn't be surprised if Rocky has a good season in 2012 as a starter or backup, but ultimately he's too inconsistent to hold on as a starter IMO. And he didn't seem to fit our defense well after the 3-4 transition.

I'm psyched about our developing ILB corp of Riley, Robinson and Zoe. All three have more upside than Rocky. Good moves by the FO.

McIntosh is naturally a 4-3 middle linebacker. He's a good player and I agree that he should be able to do well with his new team.

For the price of only 540K on the salary, Ballard is a good investment for depth at that position. Surprised he fell that far on the waiver wire actually.

Why not? Pick him up for dirt cheap, turn around and flip him (or another TE on your roster) for draft picks from some other team. Smart move.
