Re: Around the NFL Offseason 2013

If they have to Franchise Tag Nicks, he'll cost them $11 million.

If they want to keep him, he's going to have to get Cruz money or he'll walk. He IS a diva WR from what we've seen.

Says the guy whose team has their top 2 WRs holding out and skipping OTAs. Nicks still has a year left on his contract. He's pulling a DeSean at the moment.

According to the article, Nicks contract is completed at the end of this upcoming season.

Quote:
Could the absence be contract-related? Nicks’ rookie deal is set to expire after this season, but the wideout had given no indication of a possible holdout. And, unlike Cruz, he attended Phase I of the Giants’ OTA workouts a few weeks ago.

Re: Around the NFL Offseason 2013

Back to Victor Cruz's deal. You can't compare Pierre Garcon and Cruz because they play different positions. Our slot guy is Santana Moss exclusively I guess. He is great but the Redskins need to find a replacement for him soon. However, I like how the Redskins used Santana last year because it probably extended his football life. He didn't play a lot of snaps, basically those 3rd and long situations when we need to move the chains. The Redskins number one and two WRs are Garcon and Morgan. Maybe they hope Robinson will take over for Moss at some point. I don't see Hankerson being a slot guys. What do you guys think?

I think there's no clear backup to Santana and that's going to have to be addressed next off-season

Re: Around the NFL Offseason 2013

I don't think you can be a breakout team unless you have a good defense. They DO have a pretty good defense, but they will play the 49ers and the Seahawks twice, who have better defenses. They will struggle to just win their division. You also need good QB play and I would say the 49ers and the Seahawks have better QBs than Bradford.

It's hard to say QB play so far because the other two teams QB's have only played 1 season. Sam is better than he looks and I think he'll break out this yr. I just don't know if they have enough as a team yet

I agree, he's a solid QB but not top 10
