Let's roll with Jay Gruden and see where he takes us. I'm fine with the hire. Cautiously optimistic.

@LFletcher59 39m

I think Morris as DC would be great choice! Brings energy & excitement! Would feel pretty good about HC, DC, & OC then!

How's this for a ringing endorsement for Haslett. ALready starting this new regime on a bad note.

Before people continue to get their panties in a bunch, ESPN is reporting that Morris is a candidate for DC...

Interesting...

Quote:
Gruden has deep ties to numerous members of the organization, which is why he was always considered one of the top favorites for the position. He worked as a Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive assistant for five seasons under general manager Bruce Allen, now the Redskins general manager. Redskins secondary coach Raheem Morris worked with Gruden in Tampa; Redskins tight ends coach Sean McVay worked with Gruden for one year in Tampa and one year in the United Football League. Finally, Gruden served as the offensive coordinator for Jim Haslett in the UFL with the Florida Tuskers.

McVay is expected to become Washington's offensive coordinator under Gruden, while Morris is a candidate to be named the defensive coordinator, according to league sources.

I'd pilfer the bolded. Imagine Hawkins and Aldrick Robinson running streaks beside each other...we'd have the fastest WR corps in the league. He'd also make a great returner for us.

A punter named Zoltan? You can't let that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity pass you by.

Collins and Mays hopefully. Also, I hope he gets Snyder to spend dough on Michael Johnson, assuming we go to 4-3. Him and OSackpo at ends, Kerrigan at LB?

Michael Johnson and Andrew Hawkins would be good signings. If we pay Orakpo nicely though, Johnson may not be worth it.

Re: Jay Gruden hired as head coach of the Redskins

I love how everyone is bashing keeping Haslett when it isn't truly official yet. It's all just speculation at this point. There are already conflicting media sources our there about it. Lets wait until its official to pass judgement.

That being said, I'm glad they hired Gruden. Hope this gets is on the right track. Can't wait to see what off season moves we make.

Meh...at least its not a fcking Special Teams coordinator with no prior head coaching experience.

What's the over/under on Jay's tenure as Skins' HC?
