Re: The everything Gruden thread
If we can't trade him him I'd keep and make him ride the pine until his contract is up....

Re: The everything Gruden thread
I don't want to debate the point anymore, but still believe the talent level of this team is higher than some skeptics.
Looking at offense the skill positions are loaded with talent, I mean shit a game manager type QB should be able to put up big numbers. The oline is a disaster and the offense overall is unprepared, undisciplined and poorly coached. Just my opinion but I think offense has played about 50% its potential. Defensively, the front seven is barely above average, the secondary well below average, but this is the unit that's played some strong games. Haslett has to go still. |

Re: The everything Gruden thread
Get Griffin away from here as fast as possible. Period. Beyond the poor play is the perma-drama he brings....full separation is needed.

am i being trolled right now? We quite literally just put up 392 passing yards less than 24 hours ago with a game manager type QB. a game manager type QB put up 283 yds and 2 tds against the no. 1 defense in Seattle. a game manager type QB put up 354 yds on the cardinal D. a game manager QB put up 427 yds and 3 tds on division rival eagles. excluding RG3 games, no game manager QB has thrown for less than 250 yds in any game this season. with game managing QBs we are ranked 10th in passing. let that sink in. I can only imagine we would be higher if we didnt have to count RG3's last 2 games (106 and 207 = both season lows) yes our W-L doesnt look good. the team doesnt look good period. this coach has found a way to get career numbers from game managers ... and he has fans criticizing him for not generating career numbers from game managers? i must be getting rick rolled

Re: The everything Gruden thread
And they're getting those numbers with a pretty weak o-line, especially in straight drop-back pass pro. Imagine if we could block a second or two longer on play action passes? Or hold blocks against the blitz for a second more? We might actually pick up a few 3rd and longs...
I feel ok with keeping Gruden and the offensive staff, given the way the O has performed with non-stellar QB play. The D is underperforming, in my opinion, though they clearly need a talent upgrade at a number of spots. So better coaches and schemes, better players. Look, it's a long haul. My view: keep Gruden; new D staff; get some friggin talent evaluators!

The only offensive rank that matters is points, and we're 22nd I believe. But many of those were garbage points just like we saw yesterday. Gruden's offense hasn't been able to capitalize on turnovers, good field position etc. Basically it looks like a pile of horseshit in the first half. He gets the benefit of the doubt up to this point, but now with McCoy taking all the reps things need to get sharper. If it doesn't happen I don't think anybody should fault Snyder for axing Gruden end of season, most teams would. |

Re: The everything Gruden thread
Why does everyone keep saying garbage time when we were only down 2 scores going into the 4th?

And what has probably been the most successful organization since the Super Bowl was invented, the Pittsburg Steelers never fire their coach, even when their entire fan base/the media is trying to convince them to. They seem to understand patience. But Washington is not a successful organization like the ones mentioned above so you will probably get what you want and then next year when the new head coach is in the same position as Gruden he will get fired as well. I would say the Skins are as bad as the Raiders but at least they made the Super Bowl this past century. |

RG-3 put up 6,7,and 13 points in three of his starts. Thats going to bring down the curve alittle bit. You and Gary need to relax. There is nooooo waaaay in hell that Gruden is getting canned after this year is up. Not even the slightest chance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
