I hope that is something that these potential candidates for the DC job is considering. The fact that even with the defense being garbage, save for a handful of players, the 'skins still had a winning record and still had an opportunity to make the playoffs. Even the slightest improvement on defense would work wonders for the team. Maybe Gallette re-signs with the team for a ham sandwich and a box of crackers and winds up having a strong year, and maybe Su'a Cravens is full time at safety, and maybe we draft at least one defensive guy who becomes an instant star. Just a little change in the right direction could have this team safely in the playoffs next year.

One down.

The Redskins have re-signed long snapper Nick Sundberg, the team announced. Sundberg has snapped for the Redskins since 2010 and his consistency has been repeatedly praised by coaches and the other specialists.

Re: Redskins Free Agents List

Evidently, there's already one player the Redskins have their eye on.

Rumor CentralAccording to Mark Eckel of NJ.com, the team plans to pursue interior lineman Bennie Logan if the Philadelphia Eagles allow him to hit free agency. He's on the back end of his rookie deal, which puts the Eagles in a precarious position.
Washington hasn't exactly been shy about signing veteran defensive linemen under general manager Scot McCloughan, adding Terrance Knighton, Stephen Paea and Ricky Jean Francois in his first offseason on the job in 2015. Last year, McCloughan added Ziggy Hood in February and Cullen Jenkins in August.

If Washington is able to sign Logan, it would weaken a division rival and be a good start toward rebuilding the defense.

Logan had a much lower rating (45.) than most of the players mentioned above. No thanks

He was injured this past year and in a new scheme. Each of his previous 3 years his rating had increased with experience. I certainly wouldn't write him off after 1 one season. If anything, this past season gives us leverage to negotiate.

me directly...I probably could go about $50-55 per month..you want to throw in some? Maybe we could Warpath Crowdfund?

I don't know exactly, I don't see him being a huge, top end free agent salary type at his position.

Re: Redskins Free Agents List

I felt like Barry Cofield was a similar signing. I think he was "solid" for us, which I'll take considering the state of our DTs last year.

Hopefully. But ya know, why not? The guy has the right attitude and said the right things. He could be a difference maker if he stays healthy.

Re: Redskins Free Agents List

We need Garcon back!!!

Impending free agent DeSean Jackson said he plans to "test the market."

"This is the first time in my career I'll hit the free-agent market," Jackson said, "so I'm definitely intrigued about seeing what's going to happen and test the market and see what's going on." Jackson made those comments in December, and the Redskins reportedly have not discussed a new deal with him since the end of the season, suggesting he still plans to hit free agency. If Washington wants Jackson back, they will have to beat out plenty of competition including perhaps the Rams and the Eagles, who drafted Jackson in 2008.

Brian McNally of 106.7 The Fan reports the Redskins have yet to open contract talks with impending free agent Pierre Garcon.

Washington has also not spoken with DeSean Jackson about a new deal since the end of the season, increasing the likelihood both receivers bolt in free agency. Still, negotiations usually do not kick into high gear until the Combine, so the Redskins have time to work out a deal with either Garcon or Jackson if they so choose. It still seems unlikely Washington lets both veterans walk, especially considering 2016 first-round pick Josh Doctson's health remains in question.

Need him back badly, he's way more important than Jackson IMO.

Re: Redskins Free Agents List

Keim was asked on Twitter, "what's the number one priority by Skins management?"

Keim reply with zero hesitation: "DL, DL, DL"
