I think i'm at the point now where you guys aren't going to have to ask me twice. I've not been like the argumentative posters or the people who have gotten banned. I have criticized Gruden's decision to promote from within to fill our openings rather than hire from outside the organization, and it is my belief that this could indeed cost him his job here.

At the end of the day we are supposed to debate these things as FANS, with the exception of people like SmootSmack who are privy to organizational information. The bottom line if you guys were the experts here about the redskins and or the NFL in general, you'd be working for the NFL and not attacking me on a MESSAGE BOARD. Keyboard commandos here for sure

Solidsnake I will assume this is partially directed at me because I am the latest to lash out at you for thinking that it is "likely" that Kirk will be leaving this offseason. I apologize for my actions, and I don't want you to leave either, because if you left we'd be one step closer to a circle jerk and I don't like those either. I appreciate your willingness to stick to your guns, even if I disagree we are all just here to discuss this team that we love. I disagree with your opinion on Kirk, but I have no hate for you as a person. Please stick around.

Here is the issue, whether you like the idea or not, there is a strong possibility of a trade. Redskins have traded Champ Bailey when no thought they should do it. We signed Haynesworth, Deon Sanders, and countless others when it was a bad idea. They even gave the house for RG3. As long as Danny Boy is the owner, anything is possible.

Stats don't lie. Cousins is a legit QB and that has value in the NFL. To say that no other team would be interested and he is not worth 2 first round picks is incorrect. Look at his stats and compare them to all QBs in first two years of starting. He is favorable to the majority of Qb's out there. He is the QB of the #2 offense in 2016.

We can't downplay his talent nor can we over estimate the intelligence of our front office.

Draft picks are irrelevant to me. The Skins used to draft in the top 10 every year and actually did a pretty good job at selecting players - Bailey, Arrington, Samuels, Sean Taylor, etc. The reason they still sucked and continued to draft in the top 10 was because they had crappy QBs. They had good Defenses during that time and could run the ball, but they perpetually sucked because they could not solve the QB position. Now we have a QB and some fans want draft picks instead? We had high draft picks out the ying yang for years, but still sucked because WE HAD NO QB!!! The last time we had a QB was Brad Johnson in 1999 and he went on to win a Super Bowl after the franchise kicked him to the curb.

How on earth are people NOT learning from the past? We're about to make all the same mistakes over again. WTF?!?!?!

This...Its not that we necessarily we drafted bad in the first, but the QB drives the bus in this league and once you find one that's half way decent you roll with him.

Id have serious problems with anybody in the front office who opposing paying Cousins...like to know the detractors, if I had to guess its Bruce. I think you have to remember, Bruce and Snyder picked RG3.....and the Shanny Clan wanted Cousins. I think the fact that the Shanny Bros. were right gets under both the egos of Dan and Bruce. I think Dan is willing to look past it and pay Cousins ( I remember Smoot saying Dan hated Cousins and wanted him gone) based on the playoff run and just the numbers this year. If its anybody, I think Bruce is the detractor from signing Cousins.

Pay him, pay him & then pay him again. The FO like carrying over money. Fucking pay the best damn QB we have had here in a long time. You let him walk or trade him for unproven draft picks is freaking stupid. If I was San Fran I would give Washington my second overall pick for him. Much better odds of success with Cousins than some unproven rookie QB that may or may not be worth any damn thing.

I don't.think leaving is right, but SS84 you should at least give some heed to the opinion that purely negative or purely speculative opinions get tiresome.

For example, KC may leave but its by no means the most likely outcome because the Skins have the upper hand in negotiations and there are very few historical actions that bear out a team trading or letting a qb who has set multiple team records leave. It may in fact be an unprecedented move. There are, however, dozens if not hundreds of examples of teams bargaining through the media and tag with a player they know they are going to sign.

OK Snake my bad. Over the line to single you out. I do feel a duty to call out unfounded internet rumors. I like to play a part in keeping The Warpath as a place where unfounded internet rumors go to die, not perpetuated. So I'm going to continue to challenge you strongly when you buy into it and take it too far, but I don't need to bring such personal harshness when I do it.

It's entirely possible Cousins to SF picks up steam in February and March. But until it does let's realize that the SF organization can't possibly have formed any thinking at it's QB spot until it has a coach and a GM.
