I think JJ is as stubborn as DS, and Jaylon was one of his picks. But now JJ has Micah so Jaylon is yesterday's LB de jour

Wow. Jaylon Smith had 5 years, $50.75M left on his contract.

His release leaves behind $16.6M of dead cap to the #Cowboys

2021: $9.8M ($7.2M cash)
2022: $6.8M

*****************

You have to wonder what has he done to get released by the Cowpukes.
Smiths contract extension was poorly written by Dallas. Fact of this is, starting in 2022 he had an 'injury clause" in his contract that guarantees his $9.8m dollar salary if injured. Dallas asked him to restructure simply by waiving that injury clause. Smith declined. Dallas released him in a cap saving move.

I'd take a chance on JS

It's statements like these that make me worry about you OK.

JS is as bad in space as Bostic was, probably worse actually - if that is possible. He is slow to react, and unable to recover.

Not to mention he is an ex-Cowboy.

I agree with the first line. We wouldn't be getting Jaylon Smith, pass rusher extraordinaire, we'd be getting Jaylon Smith - cut mid season because he looks embarrassingly terrible next to a quality linebacker.

More Hudson and The Rookie with Bostic out. I’d pass on JS. Less freestyle players

I wouldn't have minded if they had kicked the tires on Avery Williamson, but looks like he just signed with the Broncos practice squad.

Start Davis, Hudson, and Holcomb at LB and see how it works. Bump Holcomb off on nickel and replace him with another DB.

Yep, that is what they should do on Sunday, but it wouldn't hurt to bring in a Veteran like Williamson if Bostic is going to be out for the season.

My guess is it will be mostly Davis & Holcomb, with Hudson coming in on occasion. Who knows, maybe it's the recipe for success.

Yeah, Holcomb will definitely get the reps over Hudson. I'd like to see lots of Hudson Sunday tho.

+1

Let's take the cue from Collins, Jaylon Smith and Gilmore. This is the way.
