Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
Give me the picks too. We need a youth movement!

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
Now that NE has released Brown they have cap space. And their offense line has lost 2 or 3 players to injury. It is time to talk and see if they could get multiple early picks.

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
Here’s a couple truths the team needs to face:
1. For whatever reason TW will never play here again. We need to trade him for at least a first to get his replacement. 2. Scherff has broken off negotiations and many predict he will walk after this season. We will need to draft for HIS replacement in this draft. I’m sure he wants more money, at a winning organization that doesn’’r have our constant chaos. The 2020 draft is heavy with OT and that’s where we will draft. If we can get a 1st for TW it will help the rebuilding of the OL. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
They'll probably have to FT Scherff, in which case they have to trade TW now while they have some capital to bargain with. Don't they?

Actually, I’m a lawyer. But I don’t want to have a fool for a client either (ie, represent myself).

Yeah, but he’s so insufferably smug too.

At what point do we find CONTINUITY? Has anyone pondered where’d the Redskins be today if they had just paid Cousins early on, and kept DeSean and Garçon around in Gruden’s system? Years later, we’re all left with this mess, no continuity, or stability. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
The point about DJax and Garçon was they were playing at a high level and we let them go. No backup plan except Dotson. WR group went down fast.
KC was getting lots of stats but not wining games -especially by himself. The management felt he Wasn’t the long-term QB answer. Then they kept him through franchising for more and more money - WITHOUT A BACKUP PLAN TO REPLACE HIM (you know, draft a promising QB and develop him). No backup was developed.over those years. Once KC left, with no planets B, Bruce panics and signs a long-term contract with an average, 34 yr old QB with a good win-loss record because he played for excellent teams. Was an TW and Scherff will be traded or let go during this season or after the season is over. See a PATTERN? We CAN NOT KEEP OUR BEST TALENT. Either because we don’t recognize the talent we have, or we mismanage it. True key to winning is home-growing talent and riding it. We let our home-grown talent go, then hire over-priced FA, who then cruise through here getting the big money for min effort. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
Garcon/DJax/KC were all good releases by the time they were released. The single point I agree with you on is that the Skins didn't plan and prepare for the backup plan effectively. Particularly on KC once they put what they considered their best offer on the table they should have invested in a QB each year.
Thats the front office issue and its not changing anytime soon. On the WRs coaching wouldn't move on from a 1st round pick because of potential, we know that is a fatal flaw of Grudens tenure here, and I hope we move on from him sooner rather than later, but I have no faith that the FO will bring in a better coach. Si again thats not changing anytime soon. Bottomline this franchise is mired in bottom tier status until DS has a major reinvention of himself or till the franchise is sold. And that's not happening anytime soon either. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal
Trey Quinn, Sims Jr, Terry McLaurin and P Rich...even Harmon. I’ve liked what I’ve seen so far from the group. This coming offseason let’s rebuild the TE position.
