Re: Mega-Merge: 2010 Free Agency Rumors and Reports Thread
I totally forgot about LJ being on the market...I was against bringing him here when he was cut...more open now especially when whats left is Slow Willie and Brian Concussbrook...LT I would be up in the air, but refer LJ to whats left.........

LJ is still good, just remember how he pushed us around last year. That is not an easy task, he made it look easy. He stil got something in teh tank. I like the three monster idea though. Ports and any two of the other 4 vets.

I'm not a fan of Quinn at all, I really hope that doesn't happen. I think he's total garbage, but if Shanahan sees something I would give him the benefit of the doubt... for a little while at least.

I wouldn't worry about it. I really don't think Quinn will be here in any important capacity

Re: Mega-Merge: 2010 Free Agency Rumors and Reports Thread
My only concern about LJ, is that he was basically KC's Clinton Portis. They put a lot of mileage on him. However, he did show that he had some gas left in the tank in Cincy, so who knows. I think I would pick Parker over LJ, just because I feel LJ and Portis seem to be the same type of back.

LJ has 700 less carries that CP. He has mileage but you are right about the glimpses in Cincy. He averaged 4.4 for them. |

Marlin Jackson signs with Eagles, according to Schefter.
Um...I don't remember what the rumors were. Campbell for a 3rd and a 4th? Campbell for Quinn and a 3rd? Something like that I think. Matty, do you remember?

The rumors were JC to Cleveland for a 3rd and 4th, or Quinn and 4th, or Quinn and a 3rd.

1) Shanahan thought he could do as good or a better job with Quinn than Campbell, or 2) Campbell is definitely has no chance to be with the team in the long-term. If Campbell's only going to be here one more year, we might as well move him now and get something in return.

Re: Mega-Merge: 2010 Free Agency Rumors and Reports Thread
I would do either of those where we are getting a #3 pick. I would probably trade JC for a #3 straight up. It's obvious Shanny doesn't want JC long term and the skins need to find a way to get a pick in the 3rd round of this draft.

Re: Mega-Merge: 2010 Free Agency Rumors and Reports Thread
I'd prefer Willie Parker to Larry Johnson. I think he'd be better in the one cut, zone blocking system.
I heard Pitt decidedly reduced Willie Parker's carries to get Mendenhall more, and it wasn't so much that he lost a step. Rashard was the future, so give him the ball. In the last game of the year when the Steelers actually gave him a lot of carries, Fast Willie still showed his speed. He ran for 91 yards on 12 carries with a 34 yard breakaway run. True, the game was pretty much meaningless, but he looked healthy and like he still had some speed. |

It appears as though some old heads are returning to their old squads. Randel El, now maybe Greg Ellis.
