Re: ESPN Report: Terrell Owens attempts suicide
I think to a man/woman everyone here acknowledges the fact that our men and women are dying in Iraq daily. We're extremely grateful for that too.
I don't think T.O. getting so much attention takes away or undermine their efforts in any way, I might add. But like I said, since T.O., because of antics, is now a celebrity in his own right, whenever he twitches it's news worthy. And just because it's newsworthy, we have no right to pass moral judgement on him as an individual. |

Re: ESPN Report: Terrell Owens attempts suicide
One thing we can say about him is he's never had off the field issues, until now. He's never been locked up, picked up for DWI, caught with hookers and coke in a hotel room, etc.
He might be a pain in the ass in the locker room, and even that's debateable to an extent. Alot of his ex-teammates say he wasn't a problem. You also have to consider how some of his antics are blown way out of proportion by the media. Hate the player, but I don't see any reason to hate the man. |

Quote to Tom Friend (somewhat paraphrased) "I want to win now, not in 2 or 3 years. If signing TO now in an attmept to win now is seen as desperate then I am desperate." He forced TO on Bill Parcels and this has either totally blown up in their face or is in the process of doing so. |

Re: ESPN Report: Terrell Owens attempts suicide
Did anyone watch the ESPN show on To's biography? He had a horrible childhood with his teammates making fun of his color and apperance... even spitting in his mouth while he was sleeping on the bus. Nobody should be judging him for what he is doing because he is clearly emtionally off kilter

Re: ESPN Report: Terrell Owens attempts suicide
T.O. denies attempting suicide. I personally don't think today is T.O.'s fault. I blame the media for running with a story they truely didnt know much about. I do blame T.O. for being T.O. making his life a constant circus, but I blame this on the media.

Well, honestly.... If the media has a police report that states he tried to commit suicide; they are CRAZY not to run with it. If it was all word of mouth I'd agree with you. But it was a police report, which is a government document that says that he attempted suicide. I dont think you'd find a single reporter on earth that wouldnt run with that. Its hard to say who's to blame from today, or what actually went down last night. Right now, the publisist I would say is looking the worst, but who the fuck knows what really happened, and I dont think we will know.

Re: ESPN Report: Terrell Owens attempts suicide
Are you saying you see more stupid skins fans than non-stupid skins fans or more stupid skins fans than stupid giants fans, stupid dolphins fans, stupid bengals fans, etc.

Re: ESPN Report: Terrell Owens attempts suicide
Hard-heartedness or a lack of compassion or whatever is not the same as stupidity. Jerry Jones allowing Owens' publicist up on the platform for the press conference in front of the Cowboys logo--that's incredibly stupid. Who's in charge over there?
It looks like Bill Parcells has done a Pontius Pilate regarding Owens and the dynamics of that relationship (Parcells/Jones) is far more interesting to me than anything involving T.O. Without Owens the Cowboys are a decent team, but without Parcells they are nothing.
