Next year is going to be a crazy year for QBs in the draft. McCoy, Bradford, Tebow are all first rounders, and Grothe/Reesing could be second rounders as well.

Ugh, so we start over with a rookie QB again? Awful prognosis on the horizon if that's the case. No way Tebow is a first round pick.

There's no way every team passes on Tebow. I don't think there's any reason that Jason Campbell would struggle this year. I just think it's a situation we have to keep an eye on.

We could always waste the 13th pick on a bad QB, but that probably wouldn't prevent Campbell from having a breakout season. So we might end up with a Brees-Rivers situation. Except unlike Rivers, we wouldn't have a good player if we traded Campbell.

True, but I think their plans all depend on this season.. If Campbell performs very well, they will give him a huge contract in return for all this attempted to trading.. If he doesn't perform that makes Danny happy enough, then I guess to expect us to draft one of the QBs next year..

I believe and hope Campbell will do good this year..

If you want to put a number on it I had Campbell pegged as an 88.0 QB (90 ceiling 80 floor) rating type of guy in 2009. It's just with Cutler I thought we had the chance to get a guy that could go as high as 95.0 QB rating ceiling and a an 88.0 floor. as well as finally getting a guy that can finish drives. I also thought that Cutler would be able to put up a 1,000 more yards then Campbell.

In looking back thats my main problem with Campbell, in that he's had trouble finishing drives. If he improves on that and makes me look like a moron then great, it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong. And it's not like anyone besides Smootsmack will remember what you say.

Still I'm excited that my second most important unit will probalby get an upgrade come draft day, and if you haven't guessed I'm talking about the O-Line.

Were you saying he was awful halfway through last season? If you were, you might have been alone. Everyone was on his jock at that point. His struggles began when the O-line broke down (damn I feel like a broken record here). This will be his second year in the same offense for the first time maybe since High School. I am excited to see him play in this offense next season.

I'm so relieved Cutler is in Chicago and Campbell is still here.

Cutler is a bitch. Campbell is a baller!

HAIL!

According to Peter King our offer really wasn't the issue, McDaniels simply preferred Orton to run his offense so once that was decided other offers really didn't matter.

Orton better then Campbell, ok if he says so. At least McDaniels saved us from shooting ourselves in the foot.

It's all about what someone values. McDaniels thinks Orton is a better fit for his offense, he may not necessarily think Orton is a better overall player, just a better fit. Remember what started all of this was McDaniels wanting Cassell. Again, a better fit than Cutler, not necessarily the better player.

Interesting. How should that make us feel about Campbell?

Josh McDaniels, who coached Tom Brady and Matt Cassel, thinks Orton is a better QB than Campbell.

The Skins called around, and no one would even give us a 2nd rounder for Campbell. Matt Schuabb was worth two 2nd rounders, for goodness sakes!

If professionals (owners, coaches, and GMs) who dont wear B&G glasses dont view Campbell as being better than Kyle Orton or worth a 2nd rounder, that tells us alot about the kind of QB we have.

That said, Campbell has displayed alot of class in all this. The unreasonable part of me is hoping he lights it up this year and tells Snyder to screw off when they try to sign him to an extension next year.

I guess McDaniels also thinks Orton is better than Cutler using that logic.

I think it's just a matter of him thinking Orton is a better fit for his offense.

ortons a horrible qb - he's not good for any system. if the excuse for campbell that he has had a bad offensive line is legit -no way anyone takes orton over campbell. ortons sucked it up behind a dominant line for years.

even if you hold to that argument, then how do you respond to the fact that no one thought campbell was worth a 2nd rounder?

campbells not that good. even his team mates in trying to defend him admitted that by saying the constant system changes were 'keeping him from being good.'

what's it going to take for people to realize campbell is not that good of a qb?
