Completely agree Lotus. I mentioned this in another thread. It doesn't need to be rocket science, he needs to stop outsmarting himself and keep it simple. When it comes to the redzone, he's complicating it more than it needs to be.

Maybe Campbell is not showing that he knows the playbook good enough to call certain plays. Just a guess! We have too much talent on both sides of the ball to be mediocre. We need to start a petition to get rid of Zorn and Blache. If I see our cornersback play 10 yards again on a 3rd and 5 again I will completely lose it.
The defense gave up 7 and got a crucial turnover. That's the least of our worries.

Carter is getting some good pressures though, better than nothing

Can someone tell me how an NFL team has one freakin running play? I mean we don't sweep, trap, counter. Where is the Al Saunders sweep play??? lol.

Hold up, If your talking about Sellers and the pass thrown his way? I doubt he would have made the end zone, but even saying that JC threw the ball way to hard. The ball went in and out of Sellers hands due to JC simply blasting the ball everywhere. JC needs to learn not to blast the ball when his WR's are within 15 yrds of him.

Not a fan of sweeps in the pros, but we do need traps and counters.

Am I the only one that noticed that when ever a team starts showing the blitz, and JC audibles the play never works.

I don't expect a team playing Chad Rinehart in his first career start to light up the scoreboard, but we're not a particularly ideal matchup for the Lions.

Part of the not being able to score problem is being ahead for most of the game. Less urgency. So it's not even a sign of futility really, it's just more of an annoying occurrence that leaves bad opponents in the game into the 4th quarter
Brett Favre? How so?

You think one of the problems on offense is simply their mindset?

Well, if I was going to try to snap an 18 game losing streak, I'd probably want Favre throwing passes on the other team.

I think their mindset of "it's okay if we come away with three" is a problem. Not as bad as the execution in the red zone has been, but that's a luck factor to an extent. Why can we run between the 20's and not in the red zone? Doesn't make any sense.

I'd also like to see us avoid the 1st and goal situations altogether sometimes. Got second and 6 at the 14? Throw the thing in the end zone.

Bottom line is if anyone is happy with this offense, they need to get their head examined. I dont care how many long drives, what JC completion percentage is, what Zorn is calling, blah blah blah ect...This was against argueably the worse team in the league and we couldnt score. To win in this league we need to get the ball in the end zone. Just check our division. Sh*t even the Eagles were putting the ball in the end zone with a pretty bad QB today. Everybody is responsible. In my opinion the offense hasnt score a legitimate touchdown so far. Zorn should give up the play calling if this crap doesnt change in the next couple games.

Man, we did not even score enough field goals.

You gotta be kidding, the ball hits you in the hands you have to catch the damn ball....PERIOD!!!! So we complain when Campbell under/over throws someone, and now your making excuses for the receiver because he throws the ball too hard, what a joke!!!

That's not going to happen. If Zorn willingly gives up playcalling then he'd be signing his own pink slip.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins vs. Rams)

My bigger problem in the red zone than the plays is the personnel packages that Zorn is using. On several occasions inside the 10, Zorn took Kelly out of the game. You have got to be kidding. Kelly is only our biggest target, and supposedly has the best hands on the team. He should NEVER be out of the game when we're inside the opponent's 10.
