Could that work? If Suh drops, or Okung is there, would San Fran be interested in either of those guys? That would be a daggon good draft for us. Then, if we can scratch out a 2nd or 3rd for Campbell and some others, and go G or BPA, this could be one of the best offseasons ever for the skins.

I just keep envisioning this tho.

Carter Haynesworth Suh Orakpo

Best D Line in NFL History right off the bat. Ridiculous.
Best D line in history?! It would be pretty damn good but what about the Fearsome Foursome or Purple People Eaters? And those are just two off the top of my head.

Couldn't you argue that the Manley, Butz, and Mann lines were right up there with that group?

I don't know how they can fix the line this year without some FA patchwork. We only have 4 picks at the moment and it would be fairly presumptuous to assume we are going to find a starter with a 4th rounder or later.

Okung better be able to start if we take him 4th.

Re: Flozell Adams at right tackle?

To Schneed10 & MattyK, I understand that it's business & I know w/McNabb in at QB we have a former rival as our leader. I'm not a fan of that move btw, and I'm definitely not for signing Adams.

The guys that make these decisions are of course paid to put a winner on the field & they must be objective to the greatest extent they can be. But I'm just a fan & I grew up watching my team's players get old in the same uniform. Times have changed, I accept that, but it doesn't mean I have to like the idea of a dude like Flozell, a true cowboy, playing here.

From a more objective stance; Flozell's best days are behind him. I think he was one tough LT for a long time, probably still is. But his decline might be pretty sharp this year. The fact that he was a life long cowboy will make us all the more furious if he comes here, false starts in crucial situations & gets beat regularly. I know I hated having my team coached by Norvelle w/Alvin Harper & J. washington (only good for his name) on the field. Not to mention Deion, although he played well here, just wasn't a game breaker any more.

Even go back to calvin hill, we never get ex cowboys that pan out in b&g. If Flozell comes here, we'll all still hate him in the end.

Which reminds me, if you can't beat them, join em.

Well that's a wonderful case that you've made, congratulations. Perhaps you'd like to back up why Flozell Adams is good? I'll throw Roy in for free.

I don't mind bringing in Flozell for dirt cheap.

This is gonna be unpopular although the stats bear this out Edit: (ProFootballFocus.com - By Position) Heyer 44th Adams 69th....a healthy Stephon Heyer in 2008 played near the same level if not better then Flozell.
And Stephon is 2 years better and Flozell is 2 years older.

Heyer is 2 years better? Define better, Heyer may have been the weakest link on the worst line in the league last year. Heyer is a turnstile, is always hurt and cannot figure out the snap count.

Flozell definitely has issues but I don't care what resource you are looking at, if they have concluded that Heyer is better than Adams they need to change careers.

All I took from that is that Gaither is 11th.

Gaither is 11th.

If we are arguing for a LT, I'd prefer to get someone who was in the top 32 but I don't know any available.

Gaither is 11th

Wonder if any RFAs might be available for Cooley and Landry or some other player for player trade.

Gaither is 11th

Still prefer to get Okung/Williams and then see who gets cut once these 6+ stud rookie OL coming in. A lot of OL will be available after the draft, we just need to get a stud for the LT at #4.

Re: Flozell Adams at right tackle?

1 LT (11), RT (0) Kwame Harris OAK -16.0
2 LT (16), RT (0) Flozell Adams DAL -13.5
3 LT (0), RT (16) Willie Colon PIT -12.5

Penalty yards rating (not sure if it's averaged of snaps or games or how it is achieved.)

Why would we focus on 2008 stats? 2009 stats seem to be more relevant to me.

Makes me wonder if having Randy Thomas and Kendall next to Heyer skewed things positively. Without veterans next to him, Heyer was garbage.
