Master of the Obvious quote of the day: If the Boyz get Gaither and we end up with Flozell or Levi that is not a good thing...

I cringe everytime I think about our current starting o-line. I hope that I can have a celebratory beverage tonight...

I was still hoping there was some way we could swing that trade. The Cowboys are the last place I want him to go. Especially with the speculation about Flozell. That would be a nightmare.

I wouldn't hate the Berry pick at all, just as long as we've got plans to get a quality LT somewhere, somehow, which I'm sure we do.

I am fine with Berry over the OT. We need to pick the best player on the board that can help us the most for the next 10 years not just the guy we need the most 4 months from now.

Re: Draft News for the Warpath

According to the evil news media...Berry is possibly the most complete pick in the draft and I've even read that some consider him the best player in the draft, the only knock on him being that he is a safety and no one wants to pay #1 pick money to a safety. Would he be a quality addition to our team? Sure, do we desperately need a quality addition elsewhere in the lineup? Oh yeah...

But yeah, I essentially agree with Matty...

Re: Draft News for the Warpath

If the Redskins trade Landry, McIntosh, and Haynesworth for Brown and the Saints' second, I will lose a great deal of faith in this new front office. Haynesworth for Brown and the Saints' second would be a fair deal for both teams -- you're talking about arguably the best defensive player in the game whom you're getting cheap for pro bowl OT and a second. Even Steven. No need to throw in McIntosh and Landry.

I completely with you...those trades above are absolute garbage. Just keep the 4th and take a franchise LT. They are downgrading Albert, Rocky and Landry waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much in those scenarios.

You don't have to worry. There's only team the Redskins had any real conversation with about AH and it's not happening. (not to say some other team can't step in at the last minute). The trade had to be on the Skins' terms. Rocky will probably be traded by this weekend. Landry is like AH, other than the Marshall talks earlier, the trade had to be on the Redskins term. Haynesworth and Landry are two guys the Redskins didn't want to trade, but are willing to listen to offers for.

Brown still very much in play, but there's competition for him.

Re: Draft News for the Warpath

If we could acquire a stopgap for one year at OT, I wouldn't be against drafting Berry. Landry definitely played his best ball as a rookie when he was teamed with Sean Taylor. Perhaps he could return to form teamed with Berry, then we could address long-term OT need in next year's FA and draft. I'm not entirely sold that Okung or Trent Williams are worthy of #4 overall, but the more I read about Berry, the more intrigued I've become - he looks like the surest bet for multiple Pro-Bowl stardom.

Re: Draft News for the Warpath

After hearing Condon say, that he's been down this road before with Eli Manning, reffering to the draft which he didn't want to go to sunny San Diego, and went to New York. We could still get Bradford, should he fall or if the Rams trade down...

You think that we'll drop something like that? Next year's 1st and 3rd (that we might not have). 1st and conditional pick based on McNabb's conditional? Or something else?
