Quote:
Rams also still in contact with free agent RB Brian Westbrook, too. He's expected to decided between Rams, Redskins and Broncos soon
Twitter / Jason La Canfora: Rams also still in contact ...

Quote:
NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that the Rams are still in contact with free agent Brian Westbrook.
La Canfora also reports that Westbrook is expected to decide between signing with St. Louis, Washington, and Denver "soon." SI's Peter King predicts that the Broncos will not be the team he chooses. If doctors determine Westbrook's knees can hold up on turf, the Rams would be his most ideal situation.

Brian Westbrook

We should know soon.

Eagles' DB Marlin Jackson goes down in practice, looks like he may have torn his ACL (for the third time)

Football news, Eagles Safety Marlin Jackson out for the season. He was a free agent acquisition from the Colts.

Philadelphia Eagles safety Marlin Jackson ruptures Achilles tendon, lost for season - ESPN

I wonder if this will put the Eagles in the Otogwe bidding.

I can sense a few bombs against the Iggles happening this season.
The Eagles now have lost someone important to a season-ending injury two years in a row. Last year, it was Stuart Bradley.

So OJ Atogwe will be a free agent tonight, and is a great FS, a position we're shaky at. He played under Haslett, and is famous for beating us with that Pete Kendall fumble returned for a TD right before the end of the first half. Do we sign this guy? I definitely think we should.

Also being that Santana may face a suspension, and Randy Moss may not be in NE after this year, do you all think the skins should try and make some sort of trade to get Moss? I think its definitely worth a look, and I would take Randy over TO any day of the week.

I think Otogwe would be a good pick up, though it sounds like the FO is not that concerned about having a FS.

A trade for Randy Moss is not a good idea. Though the last time he was a free agent, wasn't Randy Moss looking at the Eagles? (until Belichick brainwashed him to stay in NE) If he was a free agent, yeah, but not for a trade.

Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week Whatever)

I had Atogwe rated really low when he was franchised in 2008, because he wasn't really a good cover guy nor a particularly aggressive player. I thought he did a lot better for the Rams in 2009, and had him rated as a well above average player this offseason, but I can't stress enough how disturbing it is that he's available now. I mean, it wasn't difficult at all for the Rams to keep him if they wanted to, and while salary was certainly a consideration, the Rams basically feel they are better off having a free roster spot rather than having Atogwe on the roster.

I mean, teams do make mistakes on this kind of thing (see: Jansen, Jon, 2009), and I think he fills a pretty big need here, and the connection to Haslett is obvious. It wouldn't be a bad add if the Redskins go in his direction (and I expect them to). But I don't know how long a contract I'd want to throw out there, if this is longer than 2-3 years, it's probably overvaluing him as a player.

Its official !!!The Rams neglected to upgrade O.J. Atogwe's tender offer to $6.976 million, allowing him to reach unrestricted free agency.

He'd be a great pick up, pair him with Landry(SS), and the safties are set for the next 3-4yrs...

Well in BHA's mind this would be a lock that we are bidding for him. Since Schefter is MS' lackey, it would make sense our name would not be mentioned.

I honestly don't get the whole lets throw future draft picks or players trades to pick up some other teams WR's? I'd rather save those picks and players and pick up T.O. at no extra cost with a strick contract regarding personal conduct on or off the field.

I agree with TO, but what other receivers are being talked about at this point?

Not now, but it all started with Marshall. Then Anquan Boldin and there were a few others.

Think maybe he's referring to CultBrennan's suggestion we make a bid for Randy Moss
