How did Haynesworth appear to everyone?
Who are the real Redskins, the team we saw in the first half, or the team we saw in the second?
I dont know if it was a changed approach...I hope and pray its the Oline starting to mesh and get the zone blocking system down. I really think it was more on the line than the Backs.

Haynesworth had his best game of the year, keep him in there. Now you talk about approach with your first question...on defense the different approach was evident. Funnel the passing plays to the underneath check down guys, played a more 4-3 along line, and only a couple blitzs the entire game. Haslett said "no big plays from Macklin and Jackson" which turned out to be the right approach.

The real Redskins? who knows, but if we can play D like that and run the ball like we did...we could be a wild card contender period

The subtle dig he took at the Eagles at the end of the speech was priceless. There's nothing like outspoken interdivisional animosity.

Love AC, but, when he is in coverage, it's like the D only has 10 guys on the field.
Not necessarily, they mixed it up. Alexander even played some DT yesterday.

Found it. You're right - really good stuff: D.C. Sports Bog - Donovan McNabb's post-game speech

McNabb: "Everybody makes mistakes in their lifetime, and they made one last year. Thank you." Sweet.

Don't quote me on this, but I think I heard he just had some food poisoning so he should be fine in a day or two

And yes, Carter needs to keep his hand in the dirt where it belongs.
Let's not forget that Vick was out of the game and Kolb was terrible. I think the next two weeks is really going to tell if this defense is getting better.

Thanks.

On the LB stuff, I'll be interested to see the breakdown on that.

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Redskins at Eagles)

I dont think anyone is unhappy with a win no matter how they come but again we watched as a 17 points just lingered there for 2 quarters just waiting to be overcome. Luckily Vick was out because it surely would have been a loss for us if he was in.

For those of us who are complaining, its because we want consistency and steady improvement. We still never know what to expect when the Skins take the field.

For those of you who have nothing to say but positives, Don't act like you're not equally frustrated. Because you're either frustrated or blind.

Skinsguy says give this team a year or two, By then we will need a new QB. We need to gel NOW!! I hope we do, but I don't see it happening any time soon.

"Give this team a year or two" I've heard that a year or two ago.

44, luck didn't knock Mike Vick out of the game. Two hard hitting football players wearing burgundy and gold did. But I hear what you're saying. Let's just call it what it is, football.

I really enjoyed that post game speech by McNabb. It HAS been a long time since the Redskins have had such a leader at the quarterback position. I just hope the 'skins can win a ring for him before he calls it quits.

Is anyone here proclaiming this was a convincing, proof of greatness win? Of course the emperor has no clothes. Is anyone trying to dress this win up as the beggining of a new championship era? That it confirms we are playoff caliber team? I don't see anyone seriously saying this team is championship caliber. Rather, I see a bunch of hater's saying it doesn't prove anything, we were lucky, Sellers sucks, blah blah blah. Even if all those statements are true (which, btw, I pretty much believe they are) - so the F what?

WE BEAT THE EAGLES!! IN PHILLY!! CHOKE ON THAT EAGLES FANS!!!

Can you be happy we won? Not anything about next week. Or the week after. Just today. The day after we pulled out a win/survived a comeback from a division rival - in their house? That brings you no blind "I'll worry about next week tomorrow" happiness? Life is suffering interrupted by moments of joy my friend - enjoy the interruption. The suffering will begin soon enough.
Two standards are what teams should be judged by: their likeliness to win the Super Bowl now, and how likely they are to develop into a contender in the future. They have barely any shot now, and they are a good 2-3 years from becoming a consistent contender.

Oh, so yes, I should view our team as elite and have no room to improve. Hence, should they collapse or go 8-8, I'll be utterly devastated. I already did that with the 6-2 start in 2008. I'm not falling for that again. Hell, I was optimistic this year, but the Rams pulled me down to reality again.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy about the win, but don't tell not to criticize anything when there is something to criticize. I document what the mirror shows me. If something is ugly in the mirror, that means a non-pleasing description. That said, those ****ing booers got their asses kicked.

And yes, I'm a a bit of a rationalist. I'm not that big a slave to my emotions. In fact, being deluded or mistaken is nearly a damn crime in my book, which why I don't like it when I hype up my perception of the team only to be smacked down again and again year after.
