Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 3
This made me think about an interesting question. Who, at this day and age, would people rather trade away: Cooley or Davis? No question we have a surplus at TE. Cooley is getting up there in age and hasn't been injury-proof in recent years. And I think we could get a better price for Cooley than Davis anyways.

Why in the hell would we do that? Absolutely not, Fred Davis is a beast.

You'd do it because he'll be playing for someone else next year.

Dude, for a second rounder? In a heartbeat. With all the qb's coming out next year we can use that pick to possibly move up. Best idea GTripp has ever had.......plus Logan Paulson Is no slouch.

There is a lot more to NFL football than 7-on-7 drills in practice... A second round pick for Fred Davis would be Manna from Heaven.

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 3
I'd trade Davis to Oakland for Louis Murphy

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 3
The alternative is Kevin Boss or Bo Scaife?

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 3
Have to both make it backloaded for cap friendly-ness, and outbid NYG, who are also without a starting TE under contract. Doubt they get him.
Scaife would be the blandest option ever, but seems like the only other choice is a trade.

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 3
It may not be his fault but Fred Davis hasnt done squat for the Redskins yet.
I'd take a second for him. Course I would regret that if Cooley goes down...........

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 3
I'd GLADLY take a 2nd rounder for Davis or Cooley. I'd be perfectly fine with one of them leaving and the other being the starter with Plausen (sp?) being our #2...
