Re: 2012 53 man Roster predictions

I don't think we'll be keeping 10 OL. kehl also looked bad yesterday, but he's had a decent camp. I don't know. i believe i can get the top 46-48 with 99% certainty, it's just those last 5 spots.

robinson crawford and paulsen were the only guys that really helped themselves this game. everyone else already has a spot or didn't really impress.

Re: 2012 53 man Roster predictions

I thought Morris did fine...the blocking was absolutely horrible...the Bears shut down everything after they figured out we were run first with RG3...cant blame that on morris...sure he missed a block, but kids in college don't do a lot of pass blocking...that is expected

Would rather see cousins or the guy SS likes (Crompton?) play in a game before Grossman again.

Re: 2012 53 man Roster predictions

my point wasn't that morris is horrible, just that 3.4ypc and poor pass pro aren't going to be enough to unseat hightower as things currently stand. the OL is an issue, just like it was last year.

as far as running teams making the playoffs, the majority of playoff teams weren't run first, and the SB winner wasn't either, so that's not exactly an automatic qualifier.

Grossman needs to see the field like I need another beer. We both want to but no one else thinks we have done anything to deserve it yet.

Re: 2012 53 man Roster predictions

QB: RG3, GROSSMAN, COUSINS (3)

RB: HIGHTOWER, HELU, ROYSTER, MORRIS (4)

FB: YOUNG (1)

TE: DAVIS, COOLEY, PAULSEN (3)

WR: GARCON, MOSS, HANKERSON, MORGAN, ROBINSON, BANKS (6)

T: WILLIAMS, POLUMBUS, SMITH, COMPTON (4)

G: LICHTENSTEIGER, CHESTER, MO HURT, LERIBEUS, GETTIS (5)

C: MONTGOMERY (1)

DE: CARRIKER, BOWEN, JENKINS, GHOLSTON (4)

DT: COFIELD, BAKER (2)

OLB: ORAKPO, KERRIGAN, WHITE, JACKSON (4)

ILB: FLETCHER, RILEY, ROBINSON, ALEXANDER (KEHL CAN'T CATCH A COLD) (4)

CB: HALL, WILSON, CRAWFORD, BARNES, GRIFFIN (5)

S: MERRIWEATHER, WILLIAMS, DOUGHTY, GOMES (4)

ST: GANO, SUNDBERG, ROCCA (3)

This is in no way in any particular order.

-We keep Morris as a #4 RB so that no one will steal him off of PS

-Paulsen stays instead of Paul because Paul cannot block, is undersized, and cannot catch

-Banks makes it because of Saturday's game against Bears (91 yd punt return). Can't let that walk away. Robinson stays because he is coming around and possesses good WR qualities as well as ST.

-Hard to see us keep Brown on the roster, will most likely IR him. I can also see us bringing in another Vet, or faciliating a trade.

-We keep 5 CBs because our secondary needs as much help as possible. Even if Griffin can't cover a bed.

-Tanard is gone based on the seriousness of Merriweather's injury. He's far behind and can't play both safety spots like our other Safties.

-Gano is not a bad kicker, he would have possibly been a pretty 35-41 if it wasnt for the blocks last year. Plus, he has a stronger, younger leg on kickoffs than ol' Rackers.

Re: 2012 53 man Roster predictions

tanard is better than gomes, paul is probably a better blocker than cooley.

we also need to see who gets cut by other teams during their cutdowns. every now and then there are a couple guys worth grabbing.

I don't know. A lot of people were impressed with his play last season. I'm just not a believer. I like his slot being used for some veteran wisdom, but I feel like the starting job will go to one of the other three.

Morris could be a darkhorse in that race. Granted he keeps his production up. Looking forward to seeing him get a lot of reps with the first team.

I like Tim Hightower, but his yards per carry average last season up until the point where he was lost for the season concerns me even now. He has to average more than 4.0 yards per carry. He only averaged 3.8 yards on rushes and that to me isn't very impressive. I would like to see Royster win the job because Royster finished the year with a 5.9 yard per carry average which is highly impressive.
