Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects

They say this is a 'weak' draft than most other years, particularly if you're drafting in the top half of the draft and looking for a QB. But in terms of depth and later round guys, this draft is strong with that. This is a great draft for us with DBs that all have NFL starter qualities going into the 4th round and OL and WRs that go into the 5th round of starter caliber players. Just look at some of the bios of these players just from the Pac 12 and in the senior bowl.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects

Can you imagine Ray-Ray Armstrong and Tyrann Mathieu both drafted by Redskins lol... ST & LL part 2 or a waste of our 6th round and 7th round picks.

2013 NFL Draft Early Entrants - NFL - SI.com

2013 NFL Draft: Underclassmen Tracker - CBSSports

Here are the latest lists of guys that have declared for the draft. Some notable names that the skins could be targeting:

- Joseph Randle RB OKST (fast back the skins need)
- Justin Pugh OT Syracuse (could fall to us at 54)
- Levine Toilolo TE Stanford (6'7 and can block very well)
- Josh Boyce WR TCU (reminds me of Hakeem Nicks; played with RG3 in high school)
- Kwame Geathers NT UGA (6'6 355lb NT with two brothers in the NFL)
- Jelani Jenkins LB Florida (WP All Met; lots of talent but can he stay healthy?)
- Kevin Minter LB LSU (supposedly he's a lot better than Perry Riley was; 19 tackles 1 sack in his final bowl game)

It was a fine year to trade up then since the number one pick might be a tackle that is not as highly regarded as the best tackle from last year's draft... Kalil who went 4th. Great depth like you said though.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects

My first impessions of this year's draft class:

1. It doesn't seem to be a good year to be drafting at the top of the draft. Some teams may want to trade down, but who wants to trade up?
2. I like the depth of this draft at positions where we could use some help such as RT, CB, and Safety.
3. There are some explosive offensive players who might slip due to their lack of size. Tavon Austin or Kenyon Barner could add another dimension to our offense.

You would be correct. Tackles are starting to get a little thin because a lot of players that were going to be first round picks are returning to school which obviously means people will start rising that should have been second round picks but there is still a lot of depth everywhere.

I should have mentioned ILB, as well. There seems to be a number of good prospects at that position. We could use more depth there.

Lewan and Matthews returning just moves a lot of tackles up two potential slots from where those guys would have gone in the first.

KI SKins Fan, your right about ILB. Lots of depth. Shayne Skov got a 5th year at Stanford so thats one potential guy gone, but still a strong class.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects

So Alabamas Eddie Lacy (RB), Dee Millner (CB) and DJ Fluker (RT) all declared for the draft today. Only negative is that none will fall to us or fit what we do.

Luke Joeckel is a beast, if you need an LT. He can pretty much do everything.
