Re: Washington Redskins vs Detroit Lions Pregame Thread
You are forgetting Stephen Davis. He is the exception to the rule though. Terry Allen was fairly versatile.

In Alabama Richardson ran behind one of the most physical offensive lines that had a distinct advantage over most of its opponents. Most of the Alabama RB's ran well behiind that line. Richardson does not have that advantage in the NFL and it shows. If I could get a 1st rounder (to go with my other 1st) for Trent Richardson I would send him packing in a heart beat. Next years draft has some good QB's and that is Cleveland's biggest need right now. |

Re: Washington Redskins vs Detroit Lions Pregame Thread
If I had a 2nd favorite, or AFC team ... it would be the lovable loser Cleveland Browns. New owner, new GM, new HC, new DC, new OC ... this team is moving in the right direction. They obviously feel they're getting more value in recouping a first for the future then to winning today with Richardson. They could probably find a RB on a Shanny practice squad good for 75 yards a game before this season is over.
I'm surprised the consensus is that they've thrown the towel in on Weeden. I would have liked to seen them ride Richardson another season to get the most out of him ... but I guess thats the gamble you take and they didnt want to risk him getting hurt and not being able to recoup that first round pick.

Re: Washington Redskins vs Detroit Lions Pregame Thread
I'm listening to Holden and Danny for maybe 5 minutes and they had Pierre Garçon on.
(One of those two): Pierre, what makes Calvin Johnson different from other WRs in the NFL? Pierre:....um let's see, he's 6'5 runs like a 4.2 has a 45 inch vertical and catches everything.... (Same guy who asked that question):...yeah I guess that was a dumb question. ![]() That's like asking what makes Peyton manning different from Tim tebow.

I agree just saying it was a bad analogy.

He could participate in the Olympics Tebowing competition but still only take bronze.

Re: Washington Redskins vs Detroit Lions Pregame Thread
A lot of the analysts that are picking us to win Sunday are doing it because the lions are 0-26 all time away against the redskins.
If that's their only and best reasoning, then I'm still sticking with Detroit in a 45-27 rout.

Re: Washington Redskins vs Detroit Lions Pregame Thread
Don't read too much into it. I went to the Detroit game a few years ago when the Lions broke their winless streak against us at Ford Field. First time in I don't know how long they beat us at all, so it might be time for the home streak to fall as well. WE have a decent shot, as the Lions seem to be the old Lions, who shoot themselves in the foot. A great pass rush can win the game for us.
