Personally I think Cousins is an Alex Smith or Matt Flynn game manager type QB. That generally doesn't get you to the promised land and I would rather spend time finding out if RG3 truly has what it takes than to spend time on someone who doesn't.
I don't see how anyone can say if he is or he isn't. Too early to tell. I think the people who say he is a franchise QB are just going off of last year, when the read option was so effective. As we see now, defenses are playing it differently.

From what we've seen from Cousins, the ball does come out quicker and the coaches seemed to trust him more with a pro style offense. But he's struggled some too, although he was put in some tough situations

When I say RG3 is not a franchise QB, I am just focusing on his current status. I believe he has the tools to become our franchise QB and one of the faces of the NFL. In my opinion, he's not there yet. Franchise QBs don't have 10 INTs and 10 Fumbles at this point in the season. I believe we can develop him further and I believe next season will be critical for where his career goes, assuming he doesn't get hurt here on out and gets a full offseason of work.

Agreed. Other than myself you are the only other person who does not seem to have a crystal ball and a definitive answer about Griffs future.

No, but I hope I'm wrong.

Truth be told the Redskins scored 16 points because he went off script. If he had've stayed on script the Redskins would have scored 0. Following the script the score was 0. He gave Robinson a chance to make a play.

If robby has another 4 yard half.... can we please just play Kirk?
If we end up below .500.... can we please have new coaches?
I'm just going to attend much more Oriole games this year and say F- the Skins games.
Its almost to the point of not even turning on watching the game on high definition. I'll just play it on the radio and do house chores or some shit. Probably take the girlfriend out and do what she wants.

Another wasted Fall/Winter/Redskin season.
Even the Washington Generals pulled out wins from time to time.

Robert Griffin III is struggling with his mechanics and missing opportunities

Pretty good break down.

Guys were open and RG3 missed them, yet it's all Shannahan's fault. Got it.

Then news breaks late in the day that RG3 called the wrong protection on the last play. But let's blame the O-line.

This kind of reminds me of 2007 when Jason Campbell was getting pummeled and there were no running lanes for Clinton Portiis. Campbell apologists put all the blame on the O-line. Then, low and behold, Todd Collins comes in and never gets touched and Portis suddenly has gaping holes to run through. Just maybe Collins knew what protections to call, was able to anticipate what the Defense was going to do BEFORE the ball got snapped and therefore, got rid of the damn ball instead of holding onto it. Maybe Defenses couldn't blitz him like they could Campbell.

RG3 just may lead this team to the promised land one day, but right now he's average. His mechanics need work, he has poor pocket awareness, he fumbles like Rex, gets balls batted down too frequently, can't slide and is inaccurate. On top of that, there seems to be growing evidence that he has trouble reading Defenses and can't anticipate what's going to happen pre-snap.

Good news is that he's only in his second year and can and probably will improve. But the onus is on him and blaming the coaching, the system or the O-line is loser talk and only deflects accountability.

It's not the QB folks , it's the entire system and players as a whole
