that is kind of my point...agreed - who knows what Snyder will do, but at least Gruden is going down swinging, doing what he thinks is right. If it works I think he will turn it around. If it doesn't he is gone and we never getting out of this hole.

Re: The RG3 Sucks - Knee Jerk Reaction Thread

Gruden fields an unprepared team week in, week out. This team is actually worse than last years team and that team tanked the season. Getting blown out like they have been is a cause to fire Gruden who IMO was a mediocre coach. Even more trouble than having a mediocre coach is having a mediocre "GM."

The Skins are so fcked.

Re: The RG3 Sucks - Knee Jerk Reaction Thread

During the Tampa Bay game, I watched Robert carefully to evaluate his fundamentals. He squatted nicely behind Center with his hands in the right position to take the snap. After receiving the snap, he dropped back very quickly and smoothly. He stood tall in the pocket and held the ball high while surveying the field. Then, after six or seven seconds, he took a 17-yard sack rather than risk an interception by throwing the ball or a fumble by running it. His fundamentals were perfect. I'd give him a grade of A+.

Report: Redskins brass backs Gruden's criticism of RG3 | Comcast SportsNet Washington

I think some of this is what Gruden meant by Robert being coddled by too many people.

Rapoport also reported that many special privileges that were afforded to Griffin's wife and parents, such as access to places at training camp and Redskins Park where other players' families were not allowed, are no longer available to them.

Why wouldn't they support the hc? The fact this is news speaks to the disfuction of the organization.

Re: The RG3 Sucks - Knee Jerk Reaction Thread

Cooley on rg3

"You can’t sit at your locker or be on the field and say well it’s not my fault,” Griffin continued. “You know, ‘I’m a baller, I’m an all-pro, I’m a Pro Bowl player.’ Because right now, we have no Pro Bowl players. We don’t. We’re not playing that way. I’m not playing that way, the line’s not playing that way, our receivers aren’t playing that way, the backs aren’t playing that way, our defense isn’t playing that way, our special teams isn’t playing that way. And we all know that. Coaches reiterated that to us many times, and guys have to accept that.”

There was more, but that’s the basic idea.

“We have to get better, but we do have Pro Bowlers,” Cooley pointed out. “DeSean Jackson is going to make the Pro Bowl this season. DeSean Jackson had his chances of making the Pro Bowl hurt by two overthrows and one blatantly missed throw that would have been three touchdowns….You have guys that are playing well. You can’t individually attack positions and players. It’s just not going to be good business for you as a quarterback.”

If RG3 never pans out, where does he rate among biggest NFL busts?

He won rookie of the year so he's not going to be at the top of anybody's list. A lot of his issues will be blamed on injuries and rightly so. He would definitely be top ten though.

Just for comparison, Bryan Hoyer has played like shit the last two games, but the guys around him are balling and yesterday they got a nice win. First year coach with all kinds of QB controversy and of course it's the Browns, but clearly Pettine has his guys focused and they're winning!

Take notice Jay Gruden, your closest peer is kicking your ass.

Re: The RG3 Sucks - Knee Jerk Reaction Thread

RG3 needs to continue to play, he is coming off two major injuries. He has to learn how to play with his new body, he physically can't do the things that he has done in the past.

RG3 needs to do three things to turn this around

1. Turn-off all media- Do not listen to what is being said outside of the locker room. Not on radio, ESPN, FOX, Washington Post, nothing. The only voices he should listen too are his coaches.

2. Develop a relationship with Brett Farve. BF would sling that rock and he didn't give a eff if he threw a pick or got a TD. Gunslinger, stop playing afraid to make a mistake. RG needs to learn that mentality. Study tape of Farve and Rogers. Understand how to throw people open.

3. Hire an ex-coach in the offseason to spend time with him going through tape, running drills and identifying reads. More than just two weeks. this has to be a full year type of thing.

The Redskins as a team should to commit to him, I know that is not the easy thing to do... but he has all the tools and a commitment to learn/ want to be the best.

After hearing his QB Guru, Terry Shea give him a B grade for his mechanics against TB, I have one more for you:

4. Fire Terry Shea, and any other enablers unwlling to hold you accountable for your obviouis weaknesses in mechanics and working through progressions in the pocket.
