Don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting a 'turnaround' at this point...just progress. So far in 3 games this could have been any season since 2009. Lose a winnable game on special teams. Beat a perennial bottom feeder (albeit one who has owned us recently) and then get embarrassed on national television.

Maybe I'm missing something. Have you seen him demonstrate leadership? Have you seen something that indicates that he is tactically better than the man across from him? Has he done literally anything that says, sure this has a good chance to be successful?

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

He did display a remarkably quick trigger (7 starts) to divest himself from the best assest the franchise had upon his hiring.

Oh, nevermind that's a negative too.

Yes absolutely. I saw a team who did not give up when the Rams came storming back. I saw a team who did not quit and play dead when they were down big to the Giants. Yeah I see progress.
Again Im not saying he is the man or will be the man. Im saying lets give him more than 19 games. Its hard to measure progress in such a short time. That being said - yeah I see a difference in this years team vs recent history. I see consistent fight. I see consistent desire. Hopefully soon I see consistent wins.

He walked into a pure shit show, thanks to Snyder, Allen and Shanahan. Hopefully Gruden gets three years. Successful organizations don't fire coaches every couple years. Let this staff grow another year with a lot of these young players.

My issue with the team is the penalties. Just dumb shit week after week with these guys. It's been this way for so long too, before Gruden got here.

Re: Giants Post Game Reactions

J is the HC.
It all flows from him. He is in control.
As he goes so goes the team.

Whatever he inherited its up to him to bring stability, identity and to begin to right the ship and move in the right direction and eventually to win.

J has spent most of his time actively trying to prove one of the QBs he inherited isn't any good. I believe if half the energy that went into tearing down Griffin went to not starting a newly activated LB as punt protector OR not having Carrier block the POA on a critical edge run...etc...he and the team would be better for it.

See Robert. See Robert play. See Robert stink.
The End
The moral of the story is J did no such thing to tear down Griffin. He did it all by himself on the damn field of play.

The guy is not a guy who is going to be successful here.

As for the QB, let's see what happens over the next 4 games.
Thank you. Gruden need to go

Re: Giants Post Game Reactions

I think Gruden will be a fine head coach long term. He was a rookie head coach last year. Can't hire a rookie and complain that he isn't a veteran. That said, I think Cousins will be the QB next year and his head coach, depending on performance this year, will be Gruden or Darrell Bevell with Bevell and Bill Callahan sharing OC duties. Either way, Cousins would likely get next year as a starter unless we were able to somehow draft Connor Cook which would mean we were around 2-14 this year and obviously Cousins and Gruden would be done..

Pure speculation though.

As much as people complain about Cousins, there aren't very many QB's that would be available to replace him that are arguably better that are still reasonably young. Chase Daniel could fall in there though..

Yes!! lets fire everybody including Bill callahan!! lets get Gruden gone now!! Hell I would fire him before the philly game!! Lets clean house and start over..lets give the new coach 3 games to prove himself and if he does not win lets fire him!!!! in all honesty this type of thinking is what has killed the redskins so far! 1 bad game against the Giants who really should be 3 and 0 ..oh wait they had coaching blunder at end of a game..sheez..they need to fire coughlin !! ..he should have not even been on the sideline of the redskin game..what was the Giants owner thinking?? I would take Gruden and staff over the cowboys and eagles situation..what the redskins need is to continue to play hard and get BETTER players and depth..the plays gruden called were there all night ..play calling was not the issue. turnovers..special teams..missed plays they are what happened! please lets stop this nonsense about firing the coach !

U would take gruden and staff over over Dallas? Dallas o and d coordinators are probably the best in the league...anybody have a better 2? Not off the top of my head.

I don't understand what plays were there all night? Are u talking about the one under throw to Reed? What plays there all night essential lead up to 6 points in 3 full quarters of play. 4 quarter was garbage time...game was essential over.

If plays are their all night, 6 points that's it. gruden and o staff is completely absolved? I'm lost. You need to think back to the second half of the Miami game and much of the second half of the Rams game. This isn't just the embarrassment of Thursday night.

There were several, and i mean several wide open pass plays that were there besides the underthrow to Reed through the first three quarters. No matter how much you hate Gruden you have to have seen that?
And yes he would be absolved for playcalling due to missed execution by Cousins. Cousins absolutely has made those throws in the past. Lets stop this nonsense that Cousins cannot throw 30 yards down the field because he is too weak, and Gruden should know better to ask Cousins to pull off such a monumental task. Lol. He did not execute. He had an off night. At this point in time though he is Grudens best option and depending on the defense you face on a week to week basis u r going to have to pass the ball sometimes.
Edit: and before someone says "yeah but not 50 times" 20 of them were in desperation time.

You would seriously go with Jason Garrett as head coach? Really?

I would indeed take the entire Redskins staff/owner over the Dallas situation!! So let me get this straight you like the way Jerry jones runs his team? He his done less with more than just about anybody.. Remember Colt Mccoy and Gruden went to there house and beat them..Folks say Snyder meddles with team..How about Jones? they let the best Oline coach in league come to us..They have had a top QB for years and done nothing..the redskins number one problem is the QB position..BUT RGIII is not the answer..give the redskins Romo and we are in playoffs ..
