Re: Post Draft Thoughts
On paper the roster is stacked, let’s see the production. On another subject, the Eagles signed Zack Brown to an already stacked roster

Scherff is in the last year of his contract. We will see if they can resign him.

That means that if you just start out with your base 7 picks, you are unlikely to replace starters with all of your draft picks. Plenty of picks don't pan out and plenty take 2-3 years to establish themselves and become regular starters. If you get 2-3 starters in your class, and especially in Y1 then you're doing OK. If I am right, every one of our 2017 & 18 picks are still with the team, which is something in itself, and as of right now, 6 from our last 4 drafts are down as starters (I know I include Doctson but its still a fact). If you figure in Haskins, Sweat and McLaurin will likely be starters this year or next, and if Quinn can get and hold the slot position, that's potentially 10 starters minimum from last 4 drafts. We don't even know if we've found a diamond in the rough or two with our last draft, until we see what camp looks like. I wouldn't be surprised to see our last 5 picks getting significant playing time despite coming in rounds 5-7. All in all, its too early to tell, but I think we've done pretty well from the last 4 drafts, and the last 3 particularly. |

The injuries created more opportunities for young players to get playing time but very few if any took advantage of it. Perine is on the team but never took advantage of his carries. Nicholson is my man-crush because of his elite talent but can't tackle for shit. We had to bring in veterans to fill voids those wasted draft picks couldn't fulfill(Peterson and Dix). With all the injuries to Reed, where was Sprinkle? Ryan Anderson is more productive at fullback than OLB and couldn't replace a guy that played damn near every snap yet only managed 4 sacks. Let me simplify things even further for you. Since the 2015 NFL Draft, the only player drafted outside of the first round that played at a high level last year is Matt Ioannidis. 24 guys drafted from 2015 to 2018 after the first round, only 1 has played well consistently. The rest are all hope or hype guys. Guys need to start stepping up. I'm tired of 400yard WRs and mediocre pass rushers. |

NFC EAST – WASHINGTON REDSKINS To stand pat at 15 overall and still get their guy in Dwayne Haskins, Washington hit a home run in the first round. The Ohio State quarterback showed more than enough in his one year as a starter to be worthy of a top-10 pick and to not have to forfeit any draft capital to secure him was one of our favorite picks of the draft. From there, Montez Sweat has the talent to seamlessly replace Preston Smith on the right side of their defensive line while Terry McLaurin reunites with his QB to bring a deep threat they haven’t had since Desean Jackson left. I’d also be remiss if I didn’t mention seventh-round cornerback Jimmy Moreland out of James Madison, who was our favorite slot cornerback in the draft.

Re: Post Draft Thoughts
R.J. White of cbssports.com ranked all draft day trades. Here's the trade he ranked #1:
1. Redskins add extra first-round talent Redskins get No. 26 (OLB Sweat) Colts get No. 46, 2020 2nd From a value perspective, this is the best deal of the draft, as it should have cost Washington more to move up 20 picks and back into the first round. That's not a major knock on the Colts -- they obviously missed out on the guy they were eyeing at No. 26 and decided that Redskins pick could end up being high next year. But Washington spends to go get a prospect they could have drafted at No. 15 without many people having a gripe, especially when it was reported Montez Sweat's medical issues were a little overblown. Sweat was a home-run pick at No. 26, and the Redskins paid a bargain-bin price to get up to that spot and get him. That's what makes this the best trade of the 2019 NFL Draft. |

Re: Post Draft Thoughts
You get out of the 1st round with both a potential franchise QB and franchise EDGE rusher, there is no way not to be jacked up. It's just as much a homerun now as it was on draft night.
