Anthony Harris, Riley Rieff, and a 4th for Trent?

Or, since the Vikings are stocking up, would you take 105 and 117?

Brett Favre was almost the same age when they took Rodgers. Rodgers was pick 24. Love is pick 26.

And no RB’s until possibly now with KC. Let’s see what they do.

I can understand the love for the player but not the pick. when you got an all time great qb, and he has a couple years left and the team just went to the nfc championship game the year before....how do you not draft for now? I can see if Tua had slipped but this was a reach imo regardless.

NFL Draft Round 1 Thread

All the top OT who can start right away are gone in the draft. Even the last OT picked was described as a “project player”. There are team with new QB, or old ones (Brady) who need to protect that asset. The smoke in the last couple days about Trent being worth a first rounder was just more pre-draft garbage. Trent MAY get us a second rounder, but I suspect at this point they will take a third and a fourth or fifth. Why??
Because Trent is better than anyone left on the draft. He’s a very good player in the QB blind spot. He’s got a couple good years left and is a proven leader.

Meanwhile, the limited interest in Trent over the last months has perhaps cooled his jets (no pun intended) toward his crazy, $20 mil yr salary idea. I’m sure that idea, perhaps planted there by his butthead agent, has met the cold reality of his age and limited years left. We’ll take less and he will take less. SO DON’T DESPAIR! A trade will still happen. Anything we get above our #66 will help us. My prediction is that our #66 or something higher will go to the best TE available - Kmet, Trautman, etc. If they are gone then the best WR or OT available.

Now we will see if Kyle Smith can pull out some starters from the lower draft or UDFA, like he did last year! We have holes and need depth.

Packers wtf? 13-3 and a small win now window left and they somewhat reach on Rodgers replacement? Fucking terrible. Could have taken a difference maker to win now. Should have.

Rodgers could play another 3, 4 or even 5 years. Don't see how that pick makes any sense.

Agree they need help everywhere on offense. Oline, WR, RB, TE...why not for once help Rodgers? The front office has done a fuckin terrible job surrounding him with talent. Look at Dallas...they know Dak isn’t a top ten QB, but they have gone out of there way to give him help

In the championship game AR just looked like he didn't want to be there. Not motivating his teammates, just about as aloof as it gets. Just a guess but I believe the Packers felt like after that ( plus he's 36) they needed to have a replacement plan in place.

The top organizations always draft QB's. What if GB decided to pass on AR when they had Farve? They definitely wouldn't have someone playing that's better than he is.

Difference is when they took Rodgers Favre was already talking about retirement so they had to act... this makes no sense
