Pitts was a couple of catches away from having a pretty big day. You can see the talent he just needs to develop.

A guy trying to play beyond his depths is bound to get hurt. Hope he is ok. But glad he is out of the lineup.

This is the perfect opportunity to slide Collins down to LB and move Curl to SS and bring someone in at FS to challenge McCain.

Time to shake up something.

Re: Falcons postgame

If the defense showed up week 1 , we would be 3-1 right now.. The NFL is such a play by play outcome

Re: Falcons postgame

I think part of the problem is we have guys on defense w/ low football IQ's. They can't do what the coaches are telling them to do. Ron says we're "immature" .. what he really wants to say imo is we're stupid.

No wonder Del Rio doesn't really blitz. If he started sending pressure we would just get destroyed.

Re: Falcons postgame

Normally I don't like to exaggerate on bad calls too much - but this was literally the worst call in the entire history of the NFL.

Post game breakdown:

Shoutout to Budlighticke - you scare me and thrill me in equal measure. This bud's for you bud.

Terry Mac - even with increased attention you are still making plays - you complete me. I love you.

JD Mckissic - I know you probably won't get another 80 receptions this year but way to make timely plays when we needed it.

Curtis Samuel - you were on the snap count but you made 'em count. Daps

Jonathan Allen - our PFF highest graded defender - d still played poorly but not you apparently. Way to go.

Jamin Davis - I saw a couple of timely tackles he made. Hope things are starting to click for him now that Bostic is out.

Also - we got the win. For all the negatives - we got the win. Now we need to get in the wins in film study and practice.

----------------
Negatives:

Somebody please put Landon Collins out of a job. The amount of pass plays where he ran to a spot and looked around like he didn't have a clue is too damn high. This is a god damn passing league - if you can't defend it gtfoh.

Dustin Hopkins - bro you missed 2xp in a semi-indoor environment - unless there was some magical wind fucking everything up and/or Cheeseman is giving you bad snaps you have no other possible excuses. Even your most ardent defenders are losing faith now.

The defense as a whole - almost 66% of third downs converted? Figure your shit out.

Injuries - get well soon Logan Thomas and Scherff, and Ben St. Juste too while we're at it.

Re: Falcons postgame

Yeah that call on Chase was just absurd. That ref needs to be punished for that one simply because it was such a huge call that had game changing implications.

Re: Falcons postgame

I don't long for the days when you could body slam a QB and get away with it, but man the pendulum sure has swung too far in the opposite direction. That call on CY was ridiculous. We need some common sense with these calls.

One thing that came to mind is that Chase has been flagged, at least once recently, for tackling and bringing a QB to the ground. I wonder if that caused some hesitation and led him to go for a hit, as supposed to wrap and tackle Ryan.
