I don't want us to use another name of a major sports team, ala Warriors. But I don't think you can worry about if some random B-league team or minor league team or semi-pro team uses the name of has used the name previously. There are thousands of these teams, you would never be able to use any name then.

I wasn't talking in terms of legal issues, I think those are manageable (and one of the reasons they're taking so much time). But it terms of image, I don't know how great it looks to pick a name from a random B league that went bankrupt in a couple of months. To that, you could say it wouldn't mean anything 50 years from now, but I still think they don't want be laughed at in 2022.

I definitely think it will either be red wolves or Commanders. To me Commanders feels like the smoke screen because you hear the "sources" talk attached to it, but when you look at the videos the obvious underlying tone is for redwolves.
My biggest issue with Commanders is it is simply too long. Sorry but chants and cheers use 1 to 2 syllables. Go Pack Go Da Bears How bout them cowboys (gonna get fried tonight) Cardinals are the Cards Buccaneers are the Bucs How do you shorten or chant with Commanders?
